Odin: From Tyrant to Adoption Candidate Once upon a time, there was Odin. King of Valor, not of a fairy tale kingdom, but of a world forged in tension, fear, and the instinct for survival. Odin soon understood that by growling, jostling, and imposing his will, he could take control. In his original family, he was not taught anything else. So he grew up without codes, without boundaries. Until he became a dog that no one knew how to manage. Set aside, Odin ended up alone, in a corner of a garden, behind makeshift bars. Forgotten, invisible. That's where we found him, with the hope of being able to help him. But quickly, this hope collided with reality. Odin proved to be extremely difficult. He constantly tested, tolerated no constraints, and quickly became dangerous for the teams. And despite all our efforts, within the framework of our shelter, we were failing. Our means, our environment, our pace did not allow us to progress with him. He kept turning in his box, and we with him. And time passed. Odin stayed at the shelter for a long time. Too long. He became one of those dogs "apart", those that you don't know how to approach, that you avoid a bit without saying so. He was forgotten, in his own way. A sort of passive acceptance settled in: Odin was there, it was like that. We had no solution. So he stayed there. But in 2024, we said stop. With a new dynamic, a renewed team, more determined, we refused to continue like that. We could no longer close our eyes. A solution had to be found. For him. And this solution took a name: a specialized canine educator, and her educational boarding, who agreed to take Odin in. It wasn't a given. It took courage. Understanding. Commitment. But she was not afraid. She never gave up. She saw beyond the difficult behavior, and she got to work with patience, perseverance, and a fine reading of this complex dog. And it was thanks to her work, her energy, her conviction that Odin became another dog. Yes, it had a cost. Each month, his pension is financed thanks to the generous sponsorships that allow Odin to continue his journey. And without them either, nothing would have been possible. So thank you. Thank you to the educator, thank you to her structure, thank you to the sponsors, the godparents, the volunteers. You all played a role. Today, we have news to announce: Odin is adoptable. Attention: he is not an "easy" dog. He has his past, his temperament, his needs. We are looking for an experienced adopter, available, stable, who will respect Odin, offer him a coherent framework, and continue the work already well underway. Odin has come a long way. He was forgotten, set aside, locked in his own automatisms. But he resisted. He evolved. He is here. And he deserves, too, his real life. Odin : Du tyran au candidat à l'adoption Il était une fois Odin. Roi de Valor, non pas d’un royaume de conte, mais d’un monde forgé dans la tension, la peur et l’instinct de survie. Très tôt, Odin a compris qu’en grognant, en jouant des coudes, en imposant sa volonté, il pouvait prendre le dessus. Dans sa famille d’origine, on ne lui a pas appris autre chose. Alors il a grandi comme ça, sans codes, sans cadre. Jusqu’à devenir un chien que plus personne ne savait gérer. Mis à l’écart, Odin a fini seul, dans un coin de jardin, derrière des grilles de fortune. Oublié, invisible. C’est là que nous l’avons récupéré, avec l’espoir de pouvoir l’aider. Mais rapidement, cet espoir s’est heurté à la réalité. Odin s’est montré extrêmement difficile. Il testait sans cesse, ne tolérait aucune contrainte, devenait vite dangereux pour les équipes. Et malgré tous nos efforts, dans le cadre de notre refuge, nous étions en échec. Nos moyens, notre environnement, notre rythme ne permettaient pas de progresser avec lui. Il tournait en rond dans son box, et nous avec. Et le temps a passé. Odin est resté au refuge longtemps. Trop longtemps. Il est devenu l’un de ces chiens “à part”, ceux qu’on ne sait pas trop comment aborder, qu’on évite un peu sans le dire. Il a été oublié, à sa manière. Une sorte d’acceptation passive s’est installée : Odin était là, c’était comme ça. On n’avait pas de solution. Alors il restait là. Mais en 2024, on a dit stop. Avec une nouvelle dynamique, une équipe renouvelée, plus déterminée, on a refusé de continuer comme ça. On ne pouvait plus fermer les yeux. Il fallait trouver une solution. Pour lui. Et cette solution a pris un nom : une éducatrice canine spécialisée, et sa pension éducative, qui ont accepté de prendre Odin en charge. Ce n'était pas gagné d’avance. Il fallait oser. Comprendre. S’engager. Mais elle n’a pas eu peur. Elle n’a jamais baissé les bras. Elle a vu au-delà du comportement difficile, et elle s’est mise au travail avec patience, persévérance et une lecture fine de ce chien si complexe. Et c’est grâce à son travail, à son énergie, à sa conviction, qu’Odin est devenu un autre chien. Oui, cela a un coût. Chaque mois, sa pension est financée grâce aux parrainages généreux qui permettent à Odin de poursuivre son parcours. Et sans eux non plus, rien n’aurait été possible. Alors merci. Merci à l’éducatrice, merci à sa structure, merci aux parrains, aux marraines, aux bénévoles. Vous avez tous joué un rôle. Aujourd’hui, nous avons une nouvelle à vous annoncer : Odin est adoptable. Attention : ce n’est pas un chien “facile”. Il a son passé, son tempérament, ses besoins. Nous cherchons un adoptant expérimenté, disponible, stable, qui saura respecter Odin, lui offrir un cadre cohérent, et poursuivre ce travail déjà bien entamé. Odin revient de loin. Il a été oublié, mis de côté, enfermé dans ses propres automatismes. Mais il a résisté. Il a évolué. Il est là. Et il mérite, lui aussi, sa vraie vie.
