A place that is not suitable for any dog: loud, cold, and full of stimuli that present a great challenge, especially for shy dog souls. Although Rhodica may not understand that she has escaped the harsh life on the streets, she is currently in safety here. But the shelter means a huge burden for her. That's why we wish from the bottom of our hearts that she can soon leave this place, and her worried, fearful gaze will soon be in the past. Rhodica is a captivating, approximately 5-year-old female dog with a shoulder height of around 55 cm and belongs to the medium-sized dogs. Her most fascinating feature are her amber eyes, which shimmer in warm hues of yellow, orange, and even copper depending on the light – sometimes they appear almost golden. But most importantly, they reflect one thing: kindness, gentleness, and a deep longing for trust. Unfortunately, we know nothing about Rhodica's past. What matters is now – and the small but significant progress she is showing. The sensitive female dog is still shy, but she now allows herself to be gently touched. Additionally, she is taking food through the bars, which shows that she is beginning to trust humans. Her trust is still fragile, but each of these steps is a great success. Giving up is not an option for us. Rhodica gets along well with her fellow animals. A social, friendly only dog, by which she can orient herself and who can provide her with security, would be a valuable support, but it is not a prerequisite. For Rhodica, we are searching for a quiet, empathetic home with people who can offer her time, patience, and understanding. Retreat options are particularly important for her, so she can arrive and thaw out at her own pace. Her people should have experience with sensitive or fearful dogs and believe firmly that with love and patience, trust, joy in life, and security can be brought back into Rhodica's beautiful eyes. Rhodica likely knows neither life in a home nor an appropriate dog life. Not everything will work out immediately, but with loving consistency and understanding, she will learn step by step. After an appropriate settling-in period, a visit to a positively working dog training class can contribute to strengthening her self-confidence and deepening the bond to her people. Rhodica ist eine schwarzbraune Schönheit mit einer ruhigen und liebevollen Ausstrahlung, die sofort berührt. Besonders faszinierend sind ihre bernsteinfarbenen Augen, die je nach Lichteinfall in warmen Nuancen von Gelb, Orange bis hin zu Kupfer schimmern, manchmal wirken sie fast golden. Seit Anfang August bekam die hübsche Hündin nun endlich die Chance, in eine liebevolle Pflegefamilie reisen zu dürfen. Nach so langer Zeit voller Entbehrungen öffnet sie sich langsam. Sie holt jetzt Schritt für Schritt nach, was ihr an Nähe, Geborgenheit und Liebe so lange gefehlt hat. Rhodica zeigt sich anfangs zurückhaltend und vorsichtig, sobald sie aber Vertrauen gefasst hat, genießt sie sanfte Nähe, lässt sich streicheln und zeigt, wie geduldig und zärtlich sie sein kann. Sie versteht sich sehr gut mit anderen Hunden, besonders einen Rüden der vorhandenen Ersthunde im Haushalt liebt sie sehr. Draußen zeigt sie Ruhe und Gelassenheit, im Haus versucht sie sogar, ihren Spielgefährten zum Spiel zu motivieren. Gegenüber Katzen reagiert sie sehr gelassen bzw. gar nicht. Autos an der Straße stören sie nicht, auch an der Leine läuft sie bereits sehr gut und zieht nicht. Ursprünglich wurde Rhodica von der Straße in Rumänien gerettet und im öffentlichen Shelter in Baia Mare in Sicherheit gebracht. Dort wartete sie zwei lange Jahre, bevor sie endlich gesehen wurde. Für Rhodica wünschen wir uns liebevolle Menschen, die die sanfte Hündin nicht nur in ihr Leben, sondern auch in ihr Herz aufnehmen wollen und ihr die Liebe und Geborgenheit schenken, nach der sie sich so lange gesehnt hat. Ideal geeignet wäre ein ruhiges, ländlich gelegenes Zuhause, gerne mit einem vorhandenen Hundekumpel. Hast du die sanfte Rhodica schon ins Herz geschlossen?
