Thankfully neighbours were kind enough to care for him until he was able to be brought to our rescue. Silva went to a new home for 6 weeks in May and made so much improvement. He was affectionate, playful and much more confident. Sadly his owner didn’t feel they were a good match. Since he is so shy and selective of who he likes, he needs a home that is quiet and belonging to people who can be patient with him. We believe with lots of time, patience, care, and understanding, Silva will warm up to someone. As he has had prior outdoor access, Silva will need to find a home where he is able to go outside. We think this is essential to Silva’s wellbeing. We feel the ability to come and go as he pleases after his settling in period will help him feel less pressured to interact and will enable him to interact on his own terms which will help him greatly in bonding with a new person. Silva will need a home with no children. We do not know how Silva would feel about another cat so this could be something to discuss if you have another cat in your home.
