When our Taco came to Arca Sevilla in the summer of 2022, everyone was sure that the cheerful male dog would soon find a new home. The seven-year-old charmer had come from a family, he had been loved and loved his humans. Unfortunately, a child in his home developed a severe allergy, and with a broken heart, his owners decided to look for a new home for Taco. A dog boarding facility took the small terrier mix into their care, and then long weeks passed. Taco spent much time in the crate and gradually lost his joy of life. The animal welfare workers from Arca Sevilla offered to take the little snowflake into the animal shelter so that he at least had some exercise and could have more contact with people and other dogs. The plan worked, Taco regained his former self at Arca, and it wasn't long before he could book his ticket for transport to Germany to a family. Everything seemed to be turning out well for the little heartbreaker. Unfortunately, the signs for Taco were again not good. The people he moved to expected too much from the terrier head, didn't understand his communication, and let the confused curly-haired one feel that he didn't meet their expectations. Taco was scared, withdrew more and more, and after a while (too long for Taco) it became clear that he couldn't stay there. Fortunately, we found a loving foster home for the sad male dog quickly; and now Taco can learn again to be himself - a playful, mischievous, and especially cuddly cream puff. His foster parents have already realized within a few days that Taco basically wants nothing more than to be loved. He is a gifted couch cushion and can cuddle for hours. After months without cuddles, Taco is more than motivated to make up for everything he missed in affection and tenderness. Of course, our heartbreaker is reliably house-trained, and although he is very clingy, he can be left alone for hours without any problem, without engaging in room-changing measures. In fact, Taco is a quiet, exemplary dog in the house. Calm and friendly, he greets guests gentlemanly … well, as long as they don't bring a dog. Since Taco experienced what it's like to be unwanted and unloved, he no longer wants to share his people. We are fairly sure that Taco will learn to get along with other dogs again, but he prefers to live as a single prince. He still doesn't attack approaching fellow animals or panic at their presence, but he clearly shows that he doesn't want any contact. Taco loves the garden of his foster family and enjoys being the neighborhood sheriff, keeping everything under watch. As a Terrier, he reliably reports every passerby and makes sure that no one forgets who the new block warden is. If the neighborhood behaves discreetly, Taco enjoys hunting insects, preferably the flying ones, where he surprisingly successfully distinguishes between stinging and harmless ones – maybe he's just lucky though? Driving in a car isn't a big deal for Taco, although he isn't the biggest fan. He gets into the car on his own and accepts the ride as a necessary evil, but you can see that the whole thing seems suspicious to him. Here, it's likely that the loss of control makes Taco anxious – with growing trust, calmness will return and Taco can relax and take a nap on the back seat. Until then, he will arrive at his destination, and a cookie and kiss after the trip will make him quickly forget that he actually didn't want to travel. Walking on a leash isn't Tacos favorite discipline and he can definitely make progress, but a compact dog like our snowflake isn't an athletic challenge for an adult, and even larger children aren't overwhelmed if the coconut candy jumps into the harness. However, Taco is certainly willing to learn, he likes his people and with patience, lots of love, and plenty of humor, Taco will become a show dog – at least something similar, and ultimately, the journey is the destination ... Taco can be visited (and appropriately admired) in the Eifel. He is looking for a loving family, which has humor, patience, understanding, many free hands for cuddling and kissing, plenty of time for relaxing walks, and a comfortable couch. Taco would be ready to take on the duty of the most decorative couch cushion in the house from the beginning, he is highly skilled as a hot water bottle and reliably removes food scraps from the face of his favorite people. If you're looking for a real friend, if you know that Taco also needs the best of friends, if you know that trust grows where you give it yourself, and if you're already. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

Als unser Taco im Frühsommer 2022 in die Arca Sevilla kam, waren alle sicher, dass der fröhliche Rüde bald ein neues Zuhause finden würde. Der damals sieben Jahre alte Charmeur kam aus einer Familie, er war geliebt und liebte seine Menschen. Leider entwickelte ein Kind in seinem Zuhause eine schlimme Allergie und mit gebrochenem Herzen beschlossen seine Besitzer, für Taco ein neues Heim zu suchen. Eine Hundepension nahm den kleinen Terrier-Mix in ihre Obhut, und dann vergingen lange Wochen. Taco verbrachte viel Zeit in der Box und verlor zusehends seine Lebensfreude. Die Tierschützer der Arca Sevilla boten an, die kleine Schneeflocke im Tierheim aufzunehmen, damit er wenigstens hin und wieder etwas Auslauf hatte, sowie mehr Kontakt zu Menschen und anderen Hunden pflegen konnte. Der Plan ging auf, Taco fand in der Arca zu alter Form, und es dauerte gar nicht mehr so lange, bis er sein Ticket für den Transport nach Deutschland zu einer Familie buchen konnte. Alles schien sich für den kleinen Herzensbrecher zum Besten zu wenden. Leider standen die Zeichen für Taco wieder nicht gut. Die Menschen, zu denen er zog, erwarteten zu viel von dem Terrierköpfchen, verstanden seine Kommunikation nicht und ließen das verunsicherte Lockenköpfchen spüren, dass er nicht ihren Vorstellungen entsprach. Taco hatte Angst, zog sich immer mehr zurück, und über kurz oder lang (für Taco eher zu lang) wurde klar, dass er dort nicht bleiben konnte. Zum Glück fanden wir schnell eine liebevolle Pflegestelle für den traurigen Rüden; und jetzt darf Taco wieder lernen, er selbst – also ein lustiges, verspieltes und vor allem kuschliges Sahnebaiser – zu sein. Seine Pflegeeltern haben schon nach wenigen Tagen feststellen dürfen, dass Taco eigentlich nicht mehr möchte, als geliebt zu werden. Er ist ein begabtes Sofakissen und kann stundenlang kuscheln. Nachdem er Monate auf seine Streicheleinheiten verzichtet hat, ist Taco mehr als motiviert, alles aufzuholen, was er an Zuwendung und Zärtlichkeit versäumt hat. Natürlich ist unser Herzensbrecher zuverlässig stubenrein, und obwohl er sehr anhänglich ist, kann er problemlos stundenweise alleinbleiben, ohne sich raumgestalterischen Maßnahmen zu widmen. Überhaupt ist Taco im Haus ein ruhiger, vorbildlicher Hund. Ausgeglichen und freundlich empfängt er Gäste gentlemanlike … nun, solange sie keinen Hund mitbringen. Seit Taco erleben musste, wie es ist, unerwünscht und ungeliebt zu sein, mag er seine Menschen nicht mehr teilen. Wir sind uns ziemlich sicher, dass Taco wieder lernt, mit anderen Hunden auszukommen, aber er bevorzugt das Leben als Einzelprinz. Er attackiert auch jetzt keine entgegenkommenden Artgenossen oder reagiert panisch auf deren Anwesenheit, aber er zeigt deutlich, dass er keinen Kontakt möchte. Taco liebt den Garten seiner Pflegefamilie und findet es toll, als Nachbarschaftssheriff alles im Blick zu haben. Ganz Terrier meldet er zuverlässig jeden Passanten und stellt sicher, dass auch keiner vergisst, wer der neue Blockwart ist. Wenn die Nachbarschaft sich unauffällig verhält, widmet sich Taco gern der Jagd nach Insekten, vorzugsweise den fliegenden, wobei er erstaunlich erfolgreich zwischen stechenden und ungefährlichen unterscheidet – vielleicht ist er aber auch einfach nur ein Glückspilz?! Autofahren ist für Taco keine große Sache, obwohl er nicht der größte Fan ist. Er steigt allein ins Auto und akzeptiert die Fahrt auch als notwendiges Übel, aber man sieht, dass ihm die ganze Sache suspekt ist. Auch hier liegt der Verdacht nahe, dass der Kontrollverlust Taco Angst macht – hier wird mit wachsendem Vertrauen sicher die Ruhe wiederkehren und Taco kann sich entspannt ein Nickerchen auf der Rückbank gönnen. Bis dahin kommt er aber auch ans Ziel, und ein Keks und Kuss nach der Fahrt lassen ihn schnell vergessen, dass er eigentlich gar keine Lust auf die Reise hatte. Das Laufen an der Leine ist nicht Tacos Lieblingsdisziplin und er kann da sicher noch Fortschritte machen, aber ein kompakter Hund wie unsere Schneeflocke ist nun auch keine athletische Herausforderung für einen Erwachsenen, und selbst größere Kinder sind nicht überfordert, wenn die Kokospraline ins Geschirr springt. Taco ist aber durchaus bereit, noch zu lernen, er gefällt seinen Menschen gerne und mit Geduld, viel Liebe und jeder Menge Humor wird aus Taco noch ein Vorzeigehund – also zumindest so etwas ähnliches, und letztlich ist ja immer der Weg das Ziel … Taco kann in der Eifel besucht (und standesgemäß bewundert) werden. Er sucht eine liebevolle Familie, die mit Humor, Geduld, Verständnis, vielen freien Händen zum Schmusen und Kuscheln, viel Zeit für gemütliche Spaziergänge und einer bequemen Couch gesegnet ist. Taco wäre von Anfang an bereit, den Dienst als dekorativstes Sofakissen im Haus zu übernehmen, er ist hochbegabt als Wärmeflasche und entfernt zuverlässig Speisereste aus dem Gesicht seiner Lieblingsmenschen.
