Male castrated by implant (definitive castration not possible) x Labrador Born on 01.07.2022 Identified by microchip Tom was transferred to us on 20.07.2022 by another shelter. He was rescued from abuse and lived with other dogs in an unsanitary housing. He is a bit shy when he doesn't know you, but cuddly afterwards. You may have already seen Tom at the adoption in early August, we had removed him from our networks because his castration had not gone well. He had a reaction to the anesthesia, and the veterinarians had to resuscitate him before they could even perform the surgery. His recovery was difficult, he had to stay in a coma for a few days, because he couldn't see, walk or eat. He regained his strength and was able to leave the coma and hospitalization, but still showed signs of ataxia. Tom is a warrior, and he is getting better and better, he almost no longer shows any problems. However, we do not want to take the risk of anesthetizing him again, so we had him implanted, which will need to be changed regularly by his adopters (or they are free to take the risk of putting him to sleep again)

Il avait été récupéré pour mauvais traitement, il vivait avec d’autres chiens enfermés dans un logement insalubre. C’est un chien un peu timide quand il ne connaît pas, mais câlin ensuite. Vous avez peut-être déjà vu Tom a l’adoption début août, nous l’avions retiré de nos réseaux car sa castration c’est mal passée. Il a fait une réaction à l’anesthésie, et les vétérinaires ont dû le réanimer avant même d’avoir pu effectuer la chirurgie. Son réveil s’est mal passé, il a dû rester quelques jours dans le coma, car il ne voyait pas, ne marchait pas et ne mangeait pas. Il a repris des forces, et a pu sortir du coma et d’hospitalisation mais il montrait toujours des signes d’ataxie. Tom est un warrior, et il va de mieux en mieux, il ne présente quasiment plus aucun trouble. Néanmoins, nous ne voulons pas reprendre le risque de l’anesthésier de nouveau, nous lui avons donc fait poser un implant, qui sera à faire changer régulièrement par ses adoptants (ou libre a eux de reprendre le risque de le faire endormir de nouveau) –
