Toto was found on a rainy autumn day near the shelter. He was very thin, had skin problems and looked exhausted. Dorel started feeding him regularly. When he wanted to go one day, Toto followed him meowing all the way to the car. At that moment it was clear that he wouldn't stay behind. Since then, Toto has been living safely in a foster home. As he is FIV positive, he shares his home with another FIV cat. Personality-wise, Toto is a very kind, affectionate and social tomcat. He seeks the company of people, enjoys attention very much and simply wants to belong. He gets along well with other cats. Dogs have not been tested yet. Free roaming is not an option for him. Toto tested positive for FIV. However, this is no reason not to adopt him if you fall in love with him. FIV is a viral disease that can weaken the immune system. Nevertheless, FIV-positive cats can reach the same age as cats that test negative. The virus is only transmitted to other cats, humans and other animals cannot be infected. Transmission is possible only through severe bite wounds. An FIV-positive and an FIV-negative cat can live together without problems, provided they are socially compatible. Also, castration eliminates the possibility of transmission through sexual contact. Due to the illness, free roaming is not an option. His skin problems have been treated. A hernia operation is coming up shortly, as Toto has a larger hernia. He will be fully medically cared for before moving into his final home. For his travel arrangements, Toto is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas and brings his EU pet passport. After a positive home check, whoever gives Toto a home will receive a deeply grateful, gentle companion who simply wants to belong and be loved. Seine Geschichte: Toto wurde an einem verregneten Herbsttag in der Nähe des Shelters entdeckt. Er war stark abgemagert, hatte Hautprobleme und wirkte erschöpft. Dorel begann, ihn regelmäßig zu füttern. Als er eines Tages wieder gehen wollte, lief Toto ihm miauend bis zum Auto hinterher. In diesem Moment war klar, dass er nicht zurückbleiben würde. Seitdem lebt Toto in Sicherheit auf einer Pflegestelle. Da er FIV-positiv ist, teilt er sich sein Zuhause mit einer weiteren FIV-Katze. Charakterlich ist Toto ein ausgesprochen lieber, anhänglicher und sozialer Kater. Er sucht die Nähe zu Menschen, genießt Aufmerksamkeit sehr und möchte einfach dazugehören. Mit anderen Katzen ist er gut verträglich. Hunde wurden bisher nicht getestet. Freigang kommt für ihn nicht in Frage. Toto ist FIV-positiv getestet. Dies ist jedoch kein Grund, ihn nicht zu adoptieren, wenn man sich in ihn verliebt. FIV ist eine Viruserkrankung, die das Immunsystem schwächen kann. Dennoch können FIV-positive Katzen ein ebenso hohes Alter erreichen wie negativ getestete Katzen. Das Virus ist ausschließlich auf andere Katzen übertragbar, Menschen und andere Tiere können sich nicht anstecken. Eine Übertragung ist nur bei schweren Bissverletzungen möglich. Eine FIV-positive und eine FIV-negative Katze können problemlos zusammenleben, sofern sie sozial verträglich sind. Durch die Kastration entfällt zudem eine mögliche Übertragung über den Geschlechtsakt. Aufgrund der Erkrankung kommt Freigang nicht in Frage. Seine Hautprobleme wurden behandelt. In Kürze steht eine Leistenoperation an, da Toto eine größere Hernie hat. Er wird selbstverständlich vollständig medizinisch versorgt, bevor er in sein endgültiges Zuhause ziehen darf. Bei seiner Ausreise ist Toto kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht und bringt seinen EU-Heimtierausweis mit. Nach einer positiven Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 250 Euro kann er in sein neues Zuhause ziehen. Wer Toto ein Zuhause schenkt, bekommt einen zutiefst dankbaren, sanften Begleiter, der einfach nur ankommen und geliebt werden möchte.
