Wilfy was signed over to Bristol ARC through no fault of his own. He had traumatic alopecia around the tail area but after treatment and care his fur has grown and is looking amazing. A sweet little lad who is incredibly loving, clever, and eager to please. He loves learning new things and responds really well to clear guidance, consistency, and positive reinforcement. This special boy is currently in foster where he is living with another dog, he will take a little time to warm up to any dog but does enjoy having a canine companion, one that is small / medium in size and enjoys to play. He can be quite vocal at times and certainly isn’t shy about making himself heard! Since receiving the time, care, and training he needed, he has made fantastic progress and continues to improve every day. He is a good boy walking on the lead but due to his “fluffiness” he will not tolerate being walked in hot weather, he prefers shaded areas with walks at the cooler part of the day. Wilfy can be reactive on the lead towards other dogs, but this is thought to be more due to excitement than anything else. His foster carer is currently helping him work on this and he is making good progress, however this will need continued training in his forever home. Wilfy absolutely adores fuss, cuddles, and affection, and he’ll happily soak up attention from anyone with a free pair of hands. He thrives on human company and loves being part of the action. He is also very much a sofa and bed snuggler, and absolutely loves curling up close with his people. He does find being left alone a little difficult, but his lovely foster carer is currently working on this through training and is making steady progress. He settles best with plenty of enrichment, a cosy fluffy bed, and even enjoys having BBC Radio playing quietly in the background to keep him company. A very unique and endearing boy, Wilfy is looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue the training he’s already started and give him the love and reassurance he deserves. In return, he’ll reward you with endless affection, loyalty, and plenty of character. We are looking for a family that would have some knowledge of Pomeranian breed types who are happy to groom him regularly which will prevent his fur from matting. Wilfy will need his own private secure garden and somebody who is home most of the time.
