Es un perro tranquilo, que pasea muy bien a tu lado. Es bueno y obediente, aunque con sus 12 años alguna manía que otra tiene. Necesita una familia que le ofrezca seguridad, estabilidad y tranquilidad, respetando sus espacios. Es sociable con hembras y algunos machos, y compatible con gatos.
