I am a very sweet and loving boy looking for a calm and attentive forever home Hello, my name is Dragon!I came into the sanctuary at the end of July after being one of nine cats who were cruelly abandoned on the sanctuary premises. We were let loose from our carriers and simply left behind late one afternoon. One of the team noticed some unfamiliar cats in the car park, so the CCTV was checked straight away. It showed a van pulling up and all of us cats being dumped from our carriers before the van drove away.It was a very unsettling and frightening experience for all of us. We had no idea where we were or what was happening, and I was understandably very scared.I was the last of the nine cats to be caught and definitely gave the team the biggest runaround! I was spotted on the CCTV when the incident happened, but had wandered off and was nowhere to be seen that first night. After two days of avoiding traps and playing a very successful game of hide and seek, I was finally caught and was safe!I was very stressed at first and spent my first few days hiding away in my temporary crate. However, it didn't take me long to realise that humans aren't all bad! I soon started accepting gentle head tickles, which quickly turned into me coming out of hiding to seek more affection and then showing my carers how much I love cap cuddles!I am a sensitive boy and can be a little wary and cautious when meeting new people or finding myself in unfamiliar surroundings. It doesn't take me very long to come out of my shell and become your friend, though! My carers describe me as a very sweet-natured, soppy boy who absolutely adores attention and affection. I even have a habit of jumping onto your shoulder and being a big parrot! I just love human company and being around my people. I can be playful too, but I'm generally a calm chilled-out boy I could live with sensible children aged 8+ who will understand and respect my boundaries.I am such a gentle boy around other cats. I have met a few cats here who haven’t seemed too keen on me, but I am really calm and clearly used to being around other cats. I was only recently neutered, so this may be a factor too. I could live with another cat-friendly cat, or even two.Dogs are a little scary for me, so I would not like to live with any.I would love a home with outdoor access. I would really enjoy having a garden to explore, find sunny spots to snooze in and generally potter about! This could be free outdoor access, a secure catio or a cat-proofed garden. I will need to stay indoors for at least 8 weeks while I settle into my new home before being introduced to the great outdoors. (road/environmental checks apply)If you think you could offer me the loving home I’m looking for and meet my rehoming requirements, please complete an adoption form.It is anticipated that I will be quite popular, so as always my carers will be looking for the best home match for me. Please provide plenty of information in your application about the type of home you can offer and why you think you could be the right match for me.
