News December 2023: Jack has become very friendly at the foster home! At first, he only approached when he couldn't see the hand, but soon he realized that when the hand starts to caress his back, it's actually very pleasant! Now he easily accepts pets from every angle. Every morning, Jack always comes to the bedroom to greet and rub against me, and if I lie in bed or sit on the couch, he already climbs under my side to sleep. Jack very much wants to go to a home where there is already another kitten waiting, so that he can spend days together with the other cat. * Jack is a lovely tabby kitten, whom we rescued from the cold just before the new year. Jack's problems, however, did not end with coming to the cat shelter - something still seemed to bother him, he was unhappy and almost constantly lay in the corner of the cat room. We took him for one health checkup after another, but he was completely healthy and according to the vet's opinion, he was simply stressed. We found Jack a temporary foster home, where he became a bit more active and even moved around the apartment at night, but during the day he didn't leave his favorite spot between the fridge and the wall. Some accidents also occurred at the foster home due to the great stress, which is why Jack had to return to the cat shelter. Now he receives stress-relieving food with us, but it is clear that what Jack really needs for his recovery is a permanent, real home. Although Jack still prefers to hide in a secluded place, he watches the volunteers' activities in the cat room with interest. He sometimes allows petting, but is still waiting for his person who will explain to him how to be good and finally make the kitten feel comfortable. Jack was raised in a colony with other cats and still often looks for some companion's warm side in the cat room. Therefore, it would be good if Jack's new home also had a sociable kitten already waiting for him. If you feel ready to offer Jack what he has never felt before - unconditional love with a home - then fill out the survey and come to see our kittens! * Updated 12.01.22: When Jack arrived at the cat shelter, he was in quite poor condition. His ears were inflamed, there was an ulcer behind the right ear, and in addition to all that, the change of environment and the first contact with people. All this affected Jack quite severely. He lay motionless on the floor of the cat room, and let the volunteers apply salve without resistance. We were worried about Jack after that, because stress can prolong the cat's recovery. Fortunately, we found Jack a temporary foster home, where he can be calm and get used to being with people. The foster home writes: Jack has been with us almost a week. We are moving forward step by step, but we are moving forward. We offered the foster home to Jack knowing that his trust has to be earned. Improving the cats' breathing is something very beautiful. We have tried to play with him, talk to him, pet him, give him a safe space, peace, and silence. Our attempts to become friends with him have so far been one-sided and rejected, but we continue and hope is not lost anywhere. No good thing comes here just by a wave of the hand and self-interest. If the cat doesn't trust us (yet), he has the right to do so and we respect that. For Jack, life begins at night when the family is asleep. This is his time. And try to go out at night, because then he will come running back! 😃 At night, Jack moves around the rooms and explores every corner. We see that he is actually a very clever kitten, who just hasn't come out of his shell yet.

Uudiseid detsember 2023: Jackist on saanud hoiukodus paikiisu! Algul lubas ta lähenda vaid siis, kui ta ise kätt ei näe, aga õige pea sai ta aru, et kui see käsi juba selga silitama hakkab, siis on ikka täitsa mõnus küll! Nüüd võtab ta paid hea meelega vastu iga nurga alt. Hommikuti tuleb Jack alati magamistuppa tervitama ja ennast kõige vastu hõõruma ning kui tasakesi voodis pikutada või diivanil istuda, siis ronib juba teise kassi julgustusega külje alla magama ka. Jack tahaks väga minna sellisesse koju, kus on juba mõni teine nurrik ees ootamas, kelle kaisus tukkudes saaks päevi mööda saata. * Jack on armas triibuline kiisu, kelle päästsime külma käest vahetult enne aastavahetust. Jacki mured aga kassituppa tulemisega ei lõppenud – tundus, et miski siiski vaevas teda, ta oli õnnetu ja lamas peaaegu et tardunult kassitoa nurgas. Läbisime kassipoisiga ühe tervisekontrolli teise järel, kuid tervise poolest oli tal kõik korras ja arsti hinnangul oli ta lihtsalt stressis. Leidsime Jackile ajutise hoiukodu, kus ta muutus pisut aktiivsemaks ja liikus juba öösiti korteris ringi, kuid päeval oma lemmikkohast külmkapi ja seina vahel ei lahkunud. Suurest stressis juhtus hoiukodus ka mõningaid õnnetusi, mistõttu pidi Jack tagasi kassituppa tulema. Nüüd saab ta meil stressi maandavat ravitoitu, kuid selge on, et püsiv, päris oma kodu on see, mida tegelikult Jackil olemise parandamiseks vaja on. Kuigi Jack eelistab endiselt mõnes varjulisemas pesas tukkuda, siis jälgib ta sealt huviga vabatahtliku kassitoas asjatamist. Ta lubab vahel pai teha, kuid veel ootab seda oma inimest, kes talle paide headuse lahti seletaks ja kiisu lõpuks ometi nurruma paneks. Jack on üles kasvanud koloonias teiste kasside seltsis ja otsib praegugi kassitoas tihti tuge mõne liigikaaslase sooja külje kõrvalt. Seega oleks hea, kui Jacki uues kodus oleks ka üks seltsiv vurruline juba teda ootamas. Kui tunned, et oled valmis pakkuma Jackile seda, mida ta iial veel tundnud pole – kodusoojust tingimusteta armastusega – siis täida ankeet ning tule meie hurmurit vaatama! * Uuendatud 12.01.22: Kui Jack Kassituppa saabus, oli ta üsnagi kehvas seisus. Ta kõrvad olid põletikus, parema kõrva taga haavand, ning kõigele sellele lisaks keskkonna muutus ja inimestega esmane kokkupuude. Kogu kompott mõjus Jackile üsnagi laastavalt. Ta lamas kassitoa puuri põrandal liikumatult, ning lasi vabatahtlikel ilma vastuhakuta ravisalvi määrida. Olime vabatahtlikega Jacki pärast mures, kuna stress võib pikendada kassi tervenemist. Õnneks leidsime Jackile ajutise hoiukodu, kus ta saab rahus olla ning harjuda inimese seltskonnaga. Hoiukodu kirjutab: Jack on meie juures olnud peaaegu nädala. Liigume edasi tibusammudel, kuid edasi me liigume. Pakkusime hoiukodu Jackile teades, et tema usaldus tuleb välja teenida. Katkiste hingede parandamine on midagi väga ilusat. Oleme püüdnud temaga mängida, rääkida, paitada, anda talle oma turvaline ruum, rahu, vaikus. Ükski hea asi ei tule siin elus pelgalt käe viipest ja enese egoismil sõudes. Kui kass ei usalda meid (veel), on tal selleks õigus ja me austame seda. Jacki jaoks algab elu öösel, mil pererahvas magab. See aeg on Tema aeg. Ja proovigugi pererahvas öösel vetsu minna, sest siis tuleb peitu tagasi joosta! 😃 Öösiti käib Jack tubades ringi ja uudistab kõik nurgatagused läbi. Me näeme, et tegelikult on ta väga vahva kassipoiss, kes lihtsalt pole oma kestast veel välja tulnud. Aga pole hullu, ilusad liblikad kooruvadki tasapisi 😊
