Kuzmych came to us at the request of Kyiv volunteers who evacuated animals from Donetsk. A family left behind 12 cats and an old dog. The owners refused both the cats and their own dog - all the animals were taken by the volunteers. We were told that Kuzmych is over 12 years old, he is blind, deaf and almost can't see anything. Because of this, no one wanted to take him, so he ended up in our shelter. He arrived in a very neglected state: severe flea dermatitis, exhaustion, hair missing in places. But after the examination it turned out that Kuzmych is not blind or deaf at all. He just didn't receive proper care for years. The ears were completely clogged with sulfur and fungal infection. We cleaned them, did treatment, took blood tests. To our surprise, the results were much better than we expected. Unfortunately, due to his age and health condition, Kuzmych can no longer be castrated. It is also unlikely that he will fully recover his fur, because the consequences of many years of flea dermatitis will remain forever. Despite all his experiences, Kuzmych is an incredibly calm, kind and gentle dog. He gets along well with other dogs and loves cats very much, because he lived with them all his life. In the shelter, he even found himself a best friend - a kitten, which he constantly licks, sleeps with and almost never leaves. I really want Kuzmych's old age to be different. Not in the shelter, where he ended up due to human betrayal, but in a quiet home, where he will be loved, cared for and allowed to live his last years peacefully. If you are ready to give Kuzmych such an old age, he will definitely answer you with his devotion and boundless affection.

Кузьмич приїхав до нас за зверненням київських волонтерів, які евакуйовували тварин із Донеччини. В одній родині залишилися 12 котів і старенький пес. Господарі відмовилися і від котів, і від власної собаки — усіх тварин вивозили волонтери. Нам сказали, що Кузьмичу понад 12 років, він сліпий, глухий і вже майже нічого не бачить. Через це його ніхто не хотів брати, тож він опинився у нашому притулку. Приїхав він у дуже занедбаному стані: сильний блошиний дерматит, виснаження, шерсть місцями майже відсутня. Але після огляду виявилося, що Кузьмич зовсім не сліпий і не глухий. Він просто роками не отримував належного догляду. Вуха були повністю забиті сіркою та грибковою інфекцією. Ми їх очистили, провели лікування, взяли аналізи крові. На наше здивування, результати виявилися хорошими — значно кращими, ніж ми очікували. На жаль, через вік і стан здоров’я каструвати Кузьмича вже не можна. Повністю відновити шерсть також навряд чи вдасться, адже наслідки багаторічного блошиного дерматиту залишаться назавжди. Попри все пережите, Кузьмич — неймовірно спокійний, добрий і лагідний пес. Він чудово ладнає з іншими собаками та дуже любить котів, адже все життя прожив поруч із ними. У притулку він навіть знайшов собі найкращого друга — котика, якого постійно вилизує, з яким спить і майже не розлучається. Мені дуже хочеться, щоб його старість була іншою. Не в притулку, куди він потрапив через людську зраду, а в тихому домі, де його любитимуть, доглядатимуть і дадуть спокійно прожити свої останні роки. Якщо ви готові подарувати Кузьмичу таку старість, він обов’язково відповість вам своєю відданістю та безмежною ніжністю.
