Max Mali was given away by his human who did not want him anymore, and so the poor boy, all confused and stressed, landed in the shelter.... It took a while for him to start getting even a bit more comfortable, as much as it is possible in the shelter environment, for sensitive and insecure dogs especially. Once he was able to join a group of dogs, he started to gain a lot more confidence, and even to relax, with the support of his friends. Max Mali loves his caretakers and is very affectionate with the people he knows and trusts. Also with new humans, after the first check-up, he then quickly bonds with new humans as well. He follows instructions and lead really well, once he has had a moment to get aligned with you. Now he lives in a group of dogs with males and females and he loves his dog friends very much. He walks well on leash, not much pulling and sniffs around calmly. Max Mali has also been out of the shelter for a day with volunteers, and he travels well in the car, laying down calmly. When he meets new dogs, and he does not have either his trusted human or his best canine friend with him, then he is a bit nervous at first, but relaxes during a calm walk and easy-going introduction, otherwise when a new meeting turns too overwhelming or straight-forward, he tenses up and tells the dog off to be left alone. He lives in a pack and gets along with other dogs, but slow intoduction is really imortant to him. He feels much more relaxed in new situations when he is together with his favourite humans or dogs. He is very lovely towards people. He takes contact with volunteers very quickly and bonds well. He loves treats and playing around with other dogs in his team. Max Mali is ideally looking for a home with at least one confident dog friend already present. His forever humans should be experienced with dogs and preferably have some experience with nervous/anxious dogs, because even though Max is now getting more and more balanced, then once he will move over to his forever home, he will be nervous for a while again. Slow, repetative daily routines will help him gain confidence and to relax, together with his best dog friend. His shoulder height is approximately 56cm.
