If you’re looking for a cat who will become your shadow, your best friend and your biggest fan, then we’d love to introduce you to Nutella. 🐾 Nutella isn’t the type of cat who’ll burst through the door demanding cuddles from the moment he arrives. Instead, he’s the kind who likes to take his time. New places and new faces can make him feel a little unsure, so he’ll usually find a safe hiding spot while he works everything out. He may even give the occasional hiss, not because he’s aggressive, but because it’s his way of saying, “I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, please give me a little space.” The wonderful thing about Nutella is that if you listen to him and let him come to you in his own time, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most affectionate cats you could ever hope to meet. Once he’s settled, Nutella transforms into an absolute love bug. ❤️ He adores his humans and forms incredibly strong bonds with the people he trusts. He’ll greet you with enthusiastic head boops, dramatic flops onto his side (or back!) and an incredibly loud, deep purr that genuinely sounds more like a car engine than a cat. He’s also become a complete lap cat, happily curling up with you for hours if you’ll let him. Nutella is wonderfully chatty too. He loves to tell you all about his day and is never shy about joining in a conversation. If you’re looking for a quiet cat… well… Nutella might have other ideas! 😸 He’s also a clever little character with a mischievous streak. Closed doors are more of a challenge than an obstacle, and he’s been known to figure out how to open them himself! Add a cardboard box, a string toy or anything containing catnip into the mix, and you’ve got one very happy boy. His favourite routine is beautifully simple. A fuss first thing in the morning, someone nearby while he enjoys his breakfast, a sunny windowsill or cat tree for an afternoon snooze, and plenty of quality time with his favourite humans in the evening. During warmer weather, you’ll often find him stretched out on cool tiled floors or tucked underneath the bed where it’s nice and cool. He also absolutely loves drinking running water, whether that’s from a cat fountain or even a gently running tap. Nutella has made fantastic progress in foster care. When he first arrived, he spent much of his time hiding under the bed while he built up the confidence to explore. Today, he confidently uses the whole room and now comes to greet his foster family at the door instead of waiting to be coaxed out. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding, and it’s clear that with patience and understanding, he’ll continue to flourish. Although he’s made amazing progress with people, Nutella does still find change difficult. Sudden movements, loud noises and raised voices can easily startle him, so he’ll be happiest in a calm, relaxed household where everyone understands the importance of letting him settle at his own pace. He has previously lived happily with children, but we feel he’d be best suited to older, respectful children who can understand his boundaries. While Nutella adapts to new people surprisingly well, he finds other cats much more challenging. He has shown that he would much prefer to be the only cat in the home, where he can enjoy all of the attention for himself. Introductions to another calm cat may be possible with plenty of time and patience, but his ideal home would be one where he can truly be the king of the castle. We don’t know how he would be with dogs. One thing Nutella would like to make very clear… he appreciates a clean toilet! His litter tray should be cleaned every day, otherwise he’ll politely let you know he’d rather not use it. A gentleman has standards, after all. 👑 Nutella isn’t looking for perfection. He’s simply looking for someone who’ll understand that trust is earned, not rushed. Give him a little patience in the beginning, and he’ll repay you with endless affection, loud purrs, warm cuddles and a friendship that will last a lifetime. ✨ Could Nutella be the missing piece of your family?
