Popeye is FIV positive (feline AIDS), a virus that weakens his immune system. This means he will have to live indoors and be the only cat in the household, in order to avoid any risk of transmission and to protect his health. With an appropriate environment and regular veterinary care, an FIV+ cat can still live many years with a good quality of life.
