So, are you looking for a loyal companion for life? My name is Siam—I’m about 7 to 8 years old and an absolutely adorable tomcat in the prime of his life, searching for a very special place to call home. As my name suggests, I’m a true Siamese mix! As is typical of us Siamese cats, we’re often described as highly intelligent, loyal, and extremely people-oriented—once the initial ice has melted, that is. Right now, though, I’m still showing my shy side. But rest assured: I’m absolutely sweet and not wild at all—I just need a bit of time, patience, and understanding to fully emerge from my shell. Since I’ve tested positive for FeLV (feline leukemia), I’m looking for a cozy home where I’ll live exclusively indoors. This disease is a viral infection that weakens the immune system; it’s completely harmless to humans or other animal species, but unfortunately contagious among cats. Although the disease isn’t curable, I’m currently living a perfectly normal life with it. I’m also a wonderfully kind roommate when it comes to other cats: I’m very social, totally peaceful, and naturally prefer to avoid any conflicts. Of course, I’d be overjoyed to find a home with loving feline companions who are also FeLV-positive. If you don’t yet have a cat but can give me plenty of time and attention, that would work just fine too—if I get such a wonderful chance at a forever home, I’d happily settle in as an only cat, if necessary. I do come with one small medical peculiarity: I suffer from gingivitis, a chronic inflammation of the gums and oral mucosa, which means I’ll need to take medication permanently. Because of this condition, I sometimes drool a bit, and on bad days, eating can cause me a little discomfort. But with the right medical care and soft food, this is easily manageable, and so far, I’ve been bravely keeping all my teeth! So my future human family should be prepared to provide me with excellent medical care in this area. For my perfect happiness, I’m dreaming of a calm and comfortable home with loving people, where I can arrive without any pressure, relax, and gradually build trust. Na, bist du auf der Suche nach einem treuen Begleiter fürs Leben? Mein Name ist Siam, ich bin ca. 7 bis 8 Jahre alt und ein absolut liebenswerter Katermann im besten Alter, der ein ganz besonderes Plätzchen sucht. Wie mein Name schon verrät, steckt in mir ein echter Siam-Mix! Typisch für uns Siamkatzen wird uns oft nachgesagt, dass wir sehr intelligent, treu und extrem menschenbezogen sind, sobald das Eis erst einmal geschmolzen ist. Aktuell zeige ich mich allerdings noch von meiner schüchternen Seite. Ich bin dabei aber absolut lieb und überhaupt nicht wild – ich brauche anfangs einfach nur etwas Zeit, Geduld und Einfühlungsvermögen, um ganz aus meinem Schneckenhaus herauszukommen. Da ich positiv auf FeLV (Leukose) getestet wurde, suche ich ein gemütliches Plätzchen in reiner Wohnungshaltung. Bei dieser Erkrankung handelt es sich um eine Viruserkrankung, die das Immunsystem schwächt und für Menschen oder andere Tierarten absolut unbedenklich, für andere Katzen jedoch leider ansteckend ist. Die Krankheit ist zwar nicht heilbar, aber ich lebe aktuell völlig normal damit. Auch mit anderen Katzen bin ich ein herzensguter Mitbewohner: Ich bin sehr sozial, absolut friedlich und gehe jedem Streit von Natur aus lieber aus dem Weg. Über ein Zuhause mit lieben, ebenfalls FeLV-positiven Artgenossen würde ich mich natürlich riesig freuen. Falls du noch keine Katze hast, mir dafür aber ganz viel Zeit und Aufmerksamkeit schenken kannst, wäre das für mich auch in Ordnung – wenn ich so eine tolle Chance auf ein Für-immer-Zuhause bekomme, würde ich notfalls auch als Einzelprinz bei dir einziehen. Eine kleine medizinische Besonderheit bringe ich ebenfalls mit: Ich leide an einer Gingivitis, einer chronischen Entzündung des Zahnfleischs und der Mundschleimhaut, weshalb ich dauerhaft auf Medikamente angewiesen bin. Durch die Infektion sabber ich manchmal ein wenig, und an schlechten Tagen kann es vorkommen, dass mir das Fressen etwas wehtut. Mit der richtigen medizinischen Unterstützung und weichem Futter lässt sich das aber gut managen, und ich behalte meine Zähnchen bisher alle tapfer! Meine zukünftigen Herzensmenschen sollten also bereit sein, mich in diesem Punkt medizinisch gut zu versorgen. Für mein perfektes Glück wünsche ich mir ein ruhiges und behagliches Plätzchen bei lieben Menschen, an dem ich ganz ohne Druck ankommen, entspannen und Vertrauen fassen darf.
