Update February 20, 2026: Sunny's ears are standing up more and more! She is looking more and more like a big, handsome, stubborn podenco girl. 2 photos added. Update February 8, 2026: Suna, Sheila and Sunny on the move! We always try our best, especially with the pups, to find extra time to organize outings with the dogs so that they can discover, enjoy and get used to more of the "real" life besides the animal shelter, around the animal shelter and the large play area. This time these little ones were the ones to go out, and what a party. It really felt like a school trip with three of those wonderful, uncomplicated and cheerful pups who really looked forward to everything! It was so fun and funny to watch how they process everything with the curiosity that only come with the first times and the comical moments that such lovely, trauma-free pups can give. All three did exceptionally well. From the very first moment, they were just completely relaxed, curious and adventurous despite all the new impressions. Getting into the car, staying calm during the ride, cuddling nicely on the back seat and then walking neatly and politely through the village with traffic, people, noise, new dogs... simply exemplary. All three passed their first test, their first real "day out" with a big fat 10. They enjoyed it and we did too! We also had a lot of attention on the street. I think they will all have plenty of dreams tonight and we... we will sleep well :) + 11 new photos added of Sunny. Input January 20, 2026: Sunny... the cheerful sun of this nice litter! The mother of Sunny and her sisters is a Podenco Canario, she was found very pregnant on the street. Fortunately, she could safely raise her puppies in the animal shelter instead of on the street. Because of this, they have been raised with love and safety in the animal shelter. They are well-socialized, have no traumas and love any form of attention. Now it is definitely time for these little ones to discover the real dog life, and believe me, they are looking forward to it! They have already discovered so much here, visits, short walks and also the large off-leash area are big favorites for these brave little ones. They are typical puppies: full of vitality, all joy and love for ten! Sunny stands out because she has more white on her beautiful face. She also enjoys attention. Chasing you or tying your shoes while you clean the premises, she's the best at that! Once in your arms, she suddenly becomes calm. Then she intensely enjoys the calm, the love, the attention, without needing to jump above the rest. With a deep sigh, she then falls happily asleep. Sunny's mother is a Podenco Canario, her father is unknown but we suspect he was big. And of course, very handsome! The hunting instinct is not really visible yet at this young age. Sunny already enjoys running after balls. We hope this sweetie finds a home soon where she can continue to grow. A person of her own that she can be loyal to, a family that she can enrich with her enthusiasm for life!

Asiel Tenerife (Sabine) Update 13 april 2026: Sunny is zó knap! Ze heeft 4 nieuwe foto's om jullie hart te veroveren.. Update 20 februari 2026: Sunny haar oortjes staan steeds meer rechtop! Ze gaat steeds meer lijken op een grote, knappe, eigenwijze podenco-meid. 2 foto's toegevoegd. Update 8 februari 2026: Suna, Sheila en Sunny op pad! We doen altijd ons best, vooral bij de pups, om extra tijd te vinden om uitjes te regelen met de honden zodat ze naast het asiel, rondom het asiel en de grote speelweide ook meer van het "echte" leventje kunnen ontdekken, genieten en wennen. Deze keer waren deze kleintjes aan de beurt en wat een feest. Het was echt net een school reisje met drie van die heerlijke, ongecompliceerde en vrolijke pups die echt hun oogjes uitkeken! Zo leuk en grappig om mee te maken hoe ze alles verwerken met die nieuwsgierigheid die alleen ‘de eerste keren’ brengen en die komische momenten die vooral zulke leuke traumaloze pups kunnen geven. Ze deden het alle drie boven verwachting goed. Vanaf het eerst moment waren ze gewoon compleet relaxed, nieuwsgierig en ondernemend ondanks al de nieuwe indrukken. Instappen in de auto, rustig blijven tijdens de rit, lekker knuffelen op de achterbank en dan nog eens zo netjes en braaf door het dorp heen lopen met verkeer, mensen, lawaai, nieuwe hondjes... voorbeeldig gewoon. Alle drie hebben ze hun eerste test, hun eerst echte "dag uit", met een dikke vette 10 behaald. Ze hebben genoten en wij ook! We hadden ook echt bekijks op straat. Volgens mij zullen ze alle drie nog heel wat nadromen vanavond en wij... wij zullen ook lekker slapen :) + 11 nieuwe foto's toegevoegd van Sunny. Input 20 januari 2026: Sunny... het vrolijke zonnetje van dit leuk nestje! De moeder van Sunny en zijn zusjes is een podenco canario, ze werd hoogzwanger op straat gevonden. Gelukkig kon ze haar kleintjes veilig grootbrengen in het asiel in plaats van op straat. Hierdoor zijn ze met liefde en in veiligheid grootgebracht in het asiel. Ze zijn goed gesocialiseerd, hebben geen trauma’s en zijn dol op elke vorm van aandacht. Nu is het dan ook zeker tijd voor deze kleintjes om het echte hondenleventje te gaan ontdekken, en geloof me, ze hebben er zin in! Ze hebben hier al van alles ontdekt, visites, korte wandelingen en ook de grote losloopweide zijn grote favorieten voor deze dappere kleintjes. Het zijn typische puppy's: vol levenslust, één en al vrolijkheid en liefde voor tien! Sunny springt er tussen uit omdat ze meer wit heeft op zijn prachtige koppie. Ook zij geniet van aandacht. Je achtervolgen of je veters los maken terwijl je het verblijf schoonmaakt, daar is ze de beste in! Eenmaal in je armen wordt ze opeens rustig. Dan geniet ze intens van de rust, van de liefde, van de aandacht, zonder boven de rest uit hoeven te springen. Met een diepe zucht valt ze dan heerlijk in slaap. Sunny haar moeder is podenco canario, haar vader is onbekend maar we vermoeden wel dat hij groot was. En reuze knap natuurlijk! Jachtinstinct is nog niet echt te zien zo jong. Sunny vindt het al wel prachtig om achter balletjes aan te rennen. We hopen dat deze lieverd snel een eigen thuis vindt waar ze verder kan opgroeien. Een eigen mens die zij trouw mag zijn, een familie die ze met haar levenslust kan gaan verrijken!
