Toffey could be saved together with many other cats from an animal hoarding case, in close cooperation with several animal welfare organizations. Her start in life was far from easy, and it shows: she is still very shy and people scare her. However, she already eats out of the hand. That is a small but incredibly important step! Toffey is not a cat that "works right away." She needs people with patience, understanding, and the wish to allow her to develop at her own pace. A free run after an adjustment phase is absolutely necessary for her. She has known it from a young age and clearly shows that she wants to go back outside. Currently, she is still unsanitary, which we attribute to her past. We assume that this behavior will subside with a free run. However, this must be taken into account during the adjustment period. Toffey has long fur that is heavily tangled due to her history. As part of the spaying process, she will therefore be shaved or the tangled areas will be removed. After that, she should be gently accustomed to regular fur care. On her foster home, Toffey lives with a friend and other cats and shows social and compatible behavior. A friendly and people-oriented partner would certainly help her to gain trust in her people faster. In the new home, no dogs should live, as this would additionally unsettle her. Children should be older (over 10 years) and understand that Toffey is not a lap cat and will need a lot of time. Who gives her the chance for a life in safety and still the necessary freedom she needs?. This cat needs outdoor access.

Toffey konnte gemeinsam mit vielen anderen Katzen aus einem Animal-Hoarding-Fall gerettet werden – dank der engen Zusammenarbeit mehrerer Tierschutzvereine. Ihr Start ins Leben war alles andere als leicht und das merkt man ihr bis heute an: Sie ist noch sehr scheu und Menschen machen ihr oft Angst. Trotzdem macht Toffey bereits tolle Fortschritte. Sie frisst schon aus der Hand – ein kleiner, aber unglaublich wichtiger Schritt. Sie ist keine Katze, die „sofort funktioniert“, sondern braucht Menschen mit Geduld, Verständnis und dem Wunsch, sie in ihrem eigenen Tempo ankommen zu lassen. Dann wird sie sich weiterentwickeln und Vertrauen fassen können. Toffey zeigt sich als soziale und verträgliche Katze. Auf ihrer Pflegestelle lebte sie problemlos mit anderen Katzen zusammen und hat nichts gegen freundliche Artgenossen im neuen Zuhause. Neue Situationen verunsichern Toffey jedoch schnell, worauf sie aktuell noch mit Unsauberkeit reagiert. Zur Unterstützung bekommt sie derzeit Zylkene, was bei einem Umzug zunächst weitergeführt werden sollte, bis sie sich stabilisiert und sicher fühlt. Freigang nach einer ausreichenden Eingewöhnungszeit ist für Toffey unbedingt notwendig. Sie kennt es von klein auf und zeigt deutlich, dass sie wieder nach draußen möchte. Toffey ist bereits kastriert und gechipt. Als Langhaarkatze benötigt sie auch künftig regelmäßige, behutsame Fellpflege. Sie wird auf der Pflegestelle bereits erfolgreich an das Bürsten gewöhnt. Im neuen Zuhause sollten keine Hunde leben, da diese sie zusätzlich verunsichern würden. Kinder sollten bereits älter sein (>10 Jahre) und verstehen, dass Toffey keine klassische Schoßkatze ist und viel Zeit brauchen wird.
