Tofik is a young dog full of energy and joy, just as befits a terrier. He needs some time to approach people for the first time and to dare to let a newly met human touch him, but he’s an inquisitive little fellow. He has an enormous appetite—so huge, in fact, that sometimes it’s hard for him to focus on the person he’s with. Still, the shelter environment presents challenging conditions for managing his emotions. Walks with him are very enjoyable when he’s on a loose leash. Tofik loves to sniff around bushes, yet at the same time he makes sure the human is really following him. He can avoid other dogs only from a considerable distance; if they’re too close, he gets excited—he barks and pulls toward them. He’s certainly a demanding dog, requiring above all a lot of patience and calmness. After all, he has the soul of a terrier, so it often happens that he quickly gets carried away by strong emotions, which just as quickly subside. He shakes himself free of them and moves on. Right now, we’re working on helping him learn how to pass other dogs without getting upset.

Tofik to młody pies pełen energii i radości jak to na teriera przystało. Potrzebuje on trochę czasu, żeby pierwszy podejść i odważyć się na dotyk nowo poznanego człowieka, ale jest z niego ciekawski psiak. Ma ogromną motywacje na jedzenie, aż tak ogromną, że czasami trudno mu się skupić na człowieku, ale schronisko to trudne warunki do panowania nad emocjami. Spacery z nim są bardzo przyjemne, na luźnej lince. Tofik uwielbia węszyć krzaczki, ale zarazem upewnia się czy na pewno człowiek podąża za nim. Potrafi omijać psy tylko przy dużym dystansie, przy zbyt małej odległości pobudza się – szczeka i ciągnie w kierunku psa. Jest to z pewnością pies wymagający, przede wszystkim wymaga on dużo cierpliwości i spokoju. Ma on bowiem duszę teriera, więc bywa, że szybko wchodzi na wysokie emocje, które równie szybko opadają. Otrzepie się z nich i idzie dalej. Obecnie pracujemy nad mijaniem się z innymi psami.
