Żurek came to us in early April after an accident. After being hit by a car, his owners didn't want to treat him and gave up custody of the kitten. Żurek spent six weeks in a cage with a neck brace, but thanks to that treatment, everything healed beautifully and he recovered splendidly. Now he’s started physiotherapy, but in a few weeks he’ll be ready to move into his new home. Żurek is a very smart cat—when a toy falls under the couch, he climbs underneath from behind and retrieves it for me himself. He can also pull keys out of locks if he doesn’t have any toys handy at the moment. He loves turning cardboard boxes into confetti. He doesn’t chew on books, cables, or furniture. He uses his scratching post. He purrs loudly and loves cuddling. He’s already learned that nighttime is for sleeping, not running around the house. He’s very well-behaved at the vet—there’s not a hint of aggression in him—and he loves other cats. Important: after the accident, Żurek has had the head of his right femur removed (his right hind leg) and a metal plate inserted in his left hind leg, which may need to be removed sometime down the line (to be discussed if you’re interested in adopting Żurek). Before adoption, he’ll also need to complete a series of physiotherapy sessions (about 3 weeks). Adoption is only to a home where the cat won’t go outside, with secure windows/balconies, to another cat, or as part of a pair with a companion of similar age from our shelter.

Żurek trafił do nas na początku kwietnia po wypadku. Po potrąceniu przez samochód właściciele nie chcieli go leczyć i zrzekli się kotka. Żurek spędził 6 tygodni w klatce i w kołnierzu, ale dzięki temu pięknie wszystko się zrosło i wygoiło. Teraz zaczął fizjoterapię, ale za parę tygodni będzie gotowy na przeprowadzkę.Żurek jest bardzo mądrym kotem – jak zabawka wpadnie mu pod kanapę, to on wchodzi pod kanapę z tyłu i ja sobie wygarnia. Potrafi też wyjąć klucze z zamka, jeżeli nie ma chwilowo własnych zabawek. Uwielbia przerabiać kartony na confetti. Nie gryzie: książek, kabli, mebli. Korzysta z drapaka. Głośno mruczy i lubi się przytulać. Nauczył się już, że w nocy się śpi, a nie biega po domu.Bardzo grzeczny u weterynarza, nie ma w nim cienia agresji i kocha inne koty. Ważne: po wypadku Żurek ma wyciętą główkę kości udowej (łapka tylna prawa) oraz metalową blaszkę (łapka tylna lewa), która może za jakiś czas wymagać usunięcia (do przedyskutowania przy chęci adopcji Żurka). Przed adopcją musi też dokończyć serię fizjoterapii (ok 3 tygodni). Adopcja tylko do domu niewychodzącego, z zabezpieczonymi oknami/balkonem, do innego kota lub w dwupaku z rówieśnikiem od nas.
