Adopt Obi

Obi is searching for patient adopters who are willing to take the time to build his confidence and help him settle into home life. He cannot be left alone initially, as he can become a little vocal, so any leaving hours will need to be introduced gradually. His new family will also need to commit to multiple meets at the centre before adoption so he can build a relationship and feel safe with them first. Obi will need some basic training, including housetraining, but with consistency, kindness, and understanding, he has so much potential to flourish. He would make an incredibly rewarding companion for the right family who are prepared to support a nervous dog and watch him come out of his shell. Obi does have some medical conditions that can be discussed more upon application. Obi is a handsome 2-year-old boy looking for a calm and understanding home where he can continue to grow in confidence. He can be shy when meeting new people and may need a few minutes to warm up, but once he trusts you, he is a very affectionate and rewarding companion. Obi is also worried around other dogs, so he will need ongoing positive socialisation and patient guidance to help him feel more comfortable. He has a medium energy level and enjoys exploring new places at his own pace, but he equally loves relaxing on the sofa with his favourite people afterwards. Obi cannot live with cats, dogs, or small furries and would be happiest as the only pet in the home. Due to his nervous nature, he is best suited to living with older, secondary-school-aged children who can respect his boundaries and give him space when needed.
