In March 2026, we found two little diamonds in the trash, the place where people throw away what they no longer want. To us, their value was beyond measure, so we brought them to our shelter. We treated them, cared for them, fed them, and little by little they began to shine. They were about three months old when they arrived, a boy and a girl. We named the boy Bernard and the girl Bianca. Even in those first days, when they were still sick and weak, they started showing glimpses of their personalities. As soon as they regained a bit of strength, both of them finally began to reveal their true puppy nature: their innocence, their curiosity, and their love of play and exploration. They are friendly dogs and have never been afraid of people. From the very beginning, Bernard seemed gentle, good natured, and never hesitated to voice his objections with a little grumble. At the same time, he has always known exactly how to ask for affection. Every Sunday, when our volunteers come and see him, they ask us which dog he is. Not because they do not remember him, but because he changes so much as he grows that they get confused. The frail, sickly, grumpy little puppy has transformed into a striking young dog with a soft, cotton like coat who steals everyone's heart. Recently, Bernard also started training, and he is proving to be an excellent student, eager to learn and, perhaps even more importantly, highly motivated by treats. Jokes aside, it brings us enormous joy to see puppies that arrive at the shelter grow into such wonderful dogs. Bernard is a young, balanced, and beautiful dog, and we are certain that his future life with a family will be every bit as sweet and lovable as he is.
