Cris została znaleziona w mieście na obrzeżach Sewilli, błąkając się po ulicach i szukając jedzenia. Na szczęście została schwytana i trafiła do jednego z naszych partnerów klinik gdzie jest od ponad roku. W tym czasie zrobiła wielki postęp. W pierwszych dniach próbowała uciec z schroniska, ponieważ była stracha, ale nauczyła się ufać i teraz czasem jest bardzo upodabniająca - nawet podchodziła do nas podczas wizyty, co było wspaniałe, ponieważ poprzedni raz, gdy byliśmy tam (prawie rok wcześniej) nie mogliśmy jej zbliżyć, więc było cudownie zobaczyć jej postęp. Chętnie aktywna i gra, ma samodzielny pociąg, ponieważ jest szczęśliwa sama w sobie i zabawia się, ale równocześnie ma chwile, w których lubi być w towarzystwie ludzi. Jest również świetna z innymi psami i myślimy, że naprawdę skorzystałaby z drugiego psa w domu. Cris szczególnie obawia się głośnych dźwięków - burze, fajerwerki, strzały itp., więc szukamy domu, gdzie będzie miała mniej tego typu sytuacji i będzie mogła być bezpieczna i zabezpieczona, jeśli się zdarzą, ponieważ wtedy najbardziej prawdopodobnie spróbuje uciec. Dla Cris potrzebny jest minimalny 6 stóp ogrodzenia. Kiedy po raz pierwszy została złowiona, przebywała z kotami przez krótki czas, zanim trafiła do schroniska, więc uznajemy ją za dogodną dla kotów. Cris jest zwyczajna, szczepiona i negatywnie przetestowana na wszystkie choroby śródziemnomorskie. Ma paszport i jest dostępna do adopcji teraz. Cris was found in a town on the outskirts of Seville, wandering the streets and looking for food. Thankfully she was caught and made her way to one of our partner kennels where she spent more than a year before coming to foster in the UK. She had made a lot of progress at the shelter, in the early days she would try and escape the shelter as she was scared of noises in particular, but she had learned to trust and was seeking out a fuss at times. With a move to the UK the process of trusting started again - she has already formed a lovely bond with the female foster, but is still very wary of the male foster when he is moving around in the home but this is something that will come in time.. She is still noise sensitive and as such, is a flight risk when a loud unexpected noise spooks her so we are looking for a home where its not too busy or noisy. Because she can climb, she needs a secure garden that has boundaries that aren’t able to be climbed (no wire or netting or anything with footholds). It is likely that even in ‘secure’ fields that are available for hire, she will need to be on a longline as we know she can climb those type of fences. In the home, she is generally very relaxed and has settled in brilliantly. She was completely clean in the home from day 1, is happy to snooze the day away on her favourite bed (she is a real creature of habit!), can be left for a few hours with the other dogs and is totally fine. She walks nicely on the lead and loves her countryside walks - her tail is up high and she gets a lot from a calm and peaceful walking environment. She also travels well in the car. She has shown a glimpse of her playful side on occasion with the other dogs, but we expect this will take some time to fully show itself. She is good with other dogs and is currently living with 4 other Podencos. She is looking for a home with at least one other confident resident dog. She is a good eater and enjoys her meals - the foster hasn’t seen any resource guarding around food. In the early days, she was a little protective over ‘her’ bed on a couple of occasions with the other dogs, but it never escalated and seems to have settled. She is also a very skilled fly hunter! She has not voluntarily chosen to sit on the sofa yet but on occasion but does seek out a head rub and likes to lay on her back and have a tummy rub! She will be a slow burner before you see her full personality but she is a delight and very easy day to day as long as she is kept safe and secure and each day more of her cute, cheeky personality shines through. A tracker is a must for Cris, just incase. When she was first caught, she was living with cats for a short while before she came to the shelter so we are classing her as cat workable.
