Galileo spent two months in a public dog shelter where he was nearly starved. It’s a hard part of his story, but it explains a lot about him — and it makes who he is now even more meaningful. He’s healthy today, safe, and steady. At some point in his past, he was hit by a car and injured one of his back feet. The damage couldn’t be surgically corrected, and as a result, he has a permanent hitch in his step. He always walks a little differently — a quiet, visible reminder of everything he’s been through — but it doesn’t stop him from enjoying life. Galileo is incredibly chill. He loves pets, leans into affection, and is happiest just being near his people. He’s not demanding — he just wants connection. After everything he’s experienced, he chooses trust, and that says a lot about him. Based on his looks and presence, he clearly has some Dutch Shepherd in him — alert eyes, athletic build, and that strong shepherd expression. Because he once had to go without food, he is food possessive around other dogs. He needs to be fed separately so he can feel secure. It’s not a flaw — it’s a survival habit from a time when food wasn’t guaranteed. Galileo does not do well with confinement. Being closed in a kennel is very stressful for him, and he will bark continuously if confined. He also doesn’t like being shut in small spaces and may become destructive if he feels trapped. He needs a home where he has space and isn’t crated. Galileo is resilient, affectionate, and steady. He’s been through hardship, but he hasn’t let it harden him. He’s simply a good dog who deserves a calm, understanding home where he can feel safe and settled.
