This “Lady in black” is not only a beauty but also simply wonderful in character. She loves people more than anything and would most like to be with her “two-leggeds” all the time. Unfortunately, that is not possible in the animal shelter, so it is all the more important to find her a nice home with people who love Aretha as much as she will love them. Of Aretha’s life story, only this is known: she lived with her puppies on a somewhat remote construction site near Bucharest. There, she was regularly fed by locals. Animal welfare workers could only save Aretha and one puppy. The hope is that the other puppies were taken in by families from the surrounding area. The animal protectors immediately knew what a dream dog Aretha is: absolutely charming with people, very friendly to other dogs, very eager to learn, and very intelligent. So she came immediately into the socialization program of the animal shelter, where she supports insecure dogs in becoming more secure. She “coaches” two shy male dogs at the moment by showing them courage, confidence, and self-assurance. For Aretha, a dream would come true if she could live with a family with larger, understanding children (she is strong and has plenty of energy) or with a couple or a single person with time to enjoy outdoor activities with Aretha. Exercise and activity are important for Aretha, so a garden to play in would be wonderful in her new home. Also, learning and training sessions would make Aretha very happy. Currently, she is learning to walk on a leash. Although the Mediterranean test was unfortunately not positive, she is physically exceptionally fit and appears healthy. Aretha is a female dog who is so pleasant to be around that one simply wants to be with her and can “steal horses” (please take this figuratively!).

Diese „Lady in black“ ist nicht nur eine Schönheit, sondern auch charakterlich einfach nur wundervoll. Sie liebt Menschen über alles und möchte am liebsten nur mit „ihren“ Zweibeinern zusammen sein. Das ist im Tierheim leider nicht möglich, deshalb ist es umso wichtiger, ganz bald ein schönes Zuhause mit Menschen zu finden, die Aretha ebenso lieben, wie sie sie lieben wird. Von Arethas Lebensgeschichte ist nur bekannt, dass sie zusammen mit ihren Welpen auf einer etwas abgelegenen Baustelle in der Nähe von Bukarest lebte. Dort wurde sie von Ortsansässigen regelmäßig gefüttert. Tierschützer konnten nur Aretha und einen Welpen retten. Die Hoffnung ist, dass die anderen Welpen von Familien aus der Umgebung aufgenommen wurden. Den Tierschützern war sofort klar, was für ein Traumhund Aretha ist: absolut liebenswürdig zu Menschen, sehr freundlich zu anderen Hunden, sehr lernwillig und sehr intelligent. So kam sie sofort in das Sozialisierungsprogramm des Tierheims, wo sie ängstliche, unsichere Hunde darin unterstützt, sicherer zu werden. So „coacht“ sie momentan zwei schüchterne Rüden, indem sie ihnen Mut, Zutraulichkeit und Selbstbewusstsein vorlebt. Für Aretha würde ein Traum in Erfüllung gehen, wenn sie bei einer Familie mit größeren, verständnisvollen Kindern leben dürfte (sie ist kräftig und durchaus ein Hund mit Energie) oder auch bei einem Paar oder einer Einzelperson mit Zeit, die Freude an Unternehmungen in der Natur mit Aretha haben. Bewegung und Aktivität ist für Aretha wichtig, deshalb wäre in ihrem neuen Zuhause ein Garten zum Toben herrlich. Auch Lern- und Trainingseinheiten würden Aretha viel Spaß machen. Momentan lernt sie an der Leine zu laufen. Obwohl der Mittelmeertest leider nicht nur negativ war, ist sie körperlich außerordentlich fit und sie wirkt gesund. Aretha ist eine Hündin, die so angenehm ist, dass man einfach mit ihr zusammen sein will und mit der man „Pferde stehlen kann“ (bitte nur sprichwörtlich nehmen!).
