After a career in show jumping, he was retired to a pasture due to navicular issues. Poorly cared for, he was taken in by two female riders who kept him for three years. They gave him up to the association because they lacked both time and resources to continue caring for him. TEMPERAMENT: Aterg is an adorable 15-year-old horse. He is very people-oriented and constantly seeks human attention and care. He’s a gentle horse (as long as you don’t dwell too much on his head-bumps when asking for cuddles) and respectful, having received a solid education. He’s the perfect family horse! We haven’t yet had the chance to test him out in outdoor rides, but given his temperament and his past as a show-jumping horse, he should be versatile and adaptable. Although he tends to be shy in a herd, he’s a horse who knows how to command respect nonetheless. He has the ideal temperament for raising a young foal! He’s a social horse who needs regular social interactions with other equines. Separations are not easy for him. Nevertheless, he remains very respectful of fences! Aterg is not rideable—he has severe foot problems and can sometimes become lame. He requires hoof trimming every six weeks and occasional courses of supplements to help relieve his discomfort. This gentle horse has a heart almost as big as himself and deserves a family that will return the love he gives. He’d be perfect as companion to another horse and would bring joy to humans who want a well-balanced horse to shower with affection for hours on end. If you scratch his withers, he’ll probably follow you to the ends of the earth! Come meet him at his foster home! Mal entretenu, il a été récupéré par deux cavalières qui l’ont gardé pendant 3 ans. Elles l’ont cédé à l’association car elles manquaient de temps et de moyens pour lui. CARACTÈRE : Aterg est un adorable cheval de 15 ans. Il est très proche de l’humain et en demande constante que l’on s’occupe de lui. C’est un cheval doux (si on ne s’attarde pas trop sur les coups de tête pour réclamer des câlins) et respectueux qui a reçu une éducation solide. Un parfait cheval de famille ! Nous n’avons pas encore eu l’occasion de tester les sorties en extérieur mais de par son tempérament et son passé de cheval de CSO, il doit être passe-partout. S’il est plutôt timide en troupeau, c’est un cheval qui sait se faire respecter malgré tout. Il a le tempérament idéal pour éduquer un poulain ! C’est un cheval grégaire qui a besoin d’interactions sociales avec d’autres équidés. Les séparations ne sont pas simples. Pour autant, il reste très respectueux des clôtures ! Aterg n’est pas montable, il a trop mal aux pieds et peut être boiteux par moment. Il a besoin d’un parage toutes les 6 semaines et de cures de compléments pour le soulager de temps en temps. Ce gentil cheval a un coeur à peu près aussi grand que lui et mérite une famille qui saura lui rendre l’amour qu’il donne. Il serait parfait pour tenir compagnie à un autre cheval et faire le bonheurs d’humains qui souhaitent un cheval bien dans sa tête à qui faire des papouilles pendant des heures. Si vous lui gratouillez le garrot, il vous suivra sans doute au bout du monde ! Venez le rencontrer dans sa famille d’accueil !
