This wonderful Galgo has been wandering around a village near Badajoz for about a month. It’s likely that he was discarded at the end of the hunting season. Sadly, these dreamy dogs in Spain are still judged solely by their usefulness. And few hunters are willing to take care of their dogs during the non-hunting season. So, it’s so easy to just set them free. What a terrible fate for these gentle dogs, especially now in winter! But luckily, Bat had some luck and is currently housed in a Spanish foster home. He lives on a property with many fellow animals and is an excellent second dog! And Bat also gets along well with cats. From his character, the male dog is a real sweetheart. He shows no fear of people; on the contrary, he loves cuddling and is very gentle. Bat shows great adaptability, and we are sure he will quickly get used to life in an apartment. Like all Galgos, Bat has a prey drive, and whether he can walk without a leash in the future, we cannot say. At any rate, the male dog needs regular opportunities to run and play (fenced property).

Dieser wunderschöne Galgorüde stromerte seit etwa einem Monat in einem Dorf bei Badajoz herum. Hier liegt die Vermutung nahe, dass er zum Ende der Jagdsaison ausrangiert wurde. Noch immer werden diese traumhaften Hunde in Spanien nur nach ihrem Nutzen beurteilt. Und kaum ein Jäger hat Lust, in der jagdfreien Zeit seine Hunde zu versorgen. Da ist es doch so einfach, sie auszusetzen. Welch ein fürchterliches Schicksal für diese sanften Hunde, noch dazu jetzt im Winter! Aber egal, Bat hatte Glück und ist erstmal auf einer spanischen Pflegestelle untergebracht. Er lebt da auf einem Grundstück zusammen mit vielen Artgenossen und ist ein optimaler Zweithund! Und Bat versteht sich auch mit Katzen. Vom Charakter her ist der Rüde ein ganz Toller. Er zeigt keine Angst vor Menschen, im Gegenteil, er liebt das Schmusen und ist ein ganz Sanfter. Bat zeigt sich sehr anpassungsfähig und wir sind uns sicher, dass er sich ganz schnell an das Leben in einer Wohnung gewöhnt. Wie alle Galgos besitzt Bat Jagdtrieb und ob er später einmal ohne Leine laufen kann, können wir nicht sagen. Auf jeden Fall braucht der Rüde regelmäßig die Möglichkeit, sich so richtig auszutoben (eingezäuntes Grundstück). Mit B
