Current location: animal shelter Daniela Lekova (Sofia, Bulgaria) Bernie was born in December 2025 and is a small mixed-breed male dog that will eventually be medium-sized. He was found in the dead of winter at minus 15 degrees on a city cemetery in Bulgaria – along with his siblings and his mother. It’s even more heartening to see how much life drive he has and how much he deserves a safe, warm home. Bernie is just at the beginning and needs to learn the Dog 1×1. For that, he’s looking for people who can show him how life works in a new home with patience, calm, and loving consistency, and who can give him the time to adjust at his own pace. Bernie is compatible with dogs and cats and can fit well as a second dog or into a cat-friendly household depending on the personalities of the existing pets. As a puppy, he needs a reliable daily routine, age-appropriate mental stimulation, many rest periods, and training in small steps. For Bernie, we wish for a home that understands that a puppy means time and effort – and that takes joy in guiding him safely and lovingly into his new life. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Derzeitiger Aufenthaltsort: Tierheim Daniela Lekova (Sofia, Bulgarien) Bernie wurde im Dezember 2025 geboren und ist ein kleiner Mischlingsrüde, der einmal mittelgroß werden wird. Er wurde im tiefsten Winter bei minus 15 Grad auf einem Stadtfriedhof in Bulgarien gefunden – zusammen mit seinen Geschwistern und seiner Mama. Umso schöner ist es zu sehen, wie viel Lebenswille in ihm steckt und wie sehr er jetzt die Chance auf ein sicheres, warmes Zuhause verdient. Bernie steht noch ganz am Anfang und muss das Hunde-1×1 erst lernen. Dafür sucht er Menschen, die ihm mit Geduld, Ruhe und liebevoller Konsequenz zeigen, wie das Leben im neuen Zuhause funktioniert, und die ihm die Zeit geben, in seinem Tempo anzukommen. Bernie ist mit Hunden und Katzen verträglich und kann je nach Charakter der vorhandenen Tiere auch gut als Zweithund oder in einen Haushalt mit Katze passen. Als Junghund braucht er eine verlässliche Tagesstruktur, altersgerechte Beschäftigung, viele Ruhephasen und ein Training in kleinen Schritten. Für Bernie wünschen wir uns ein Zuhause, das sich bewusst ist, dass ein Junghund Zeit und Arbeit bedeutet – und das Freude daran hat, ihn sicher und liebevoll ins Leben zu begleiten.
