Bonnie is intelligent, active, and very special. She is sociable with other dogs, though she may occasionally display resource guarding (something that can be addressed with proper guidance and management). She is timid and has difficulty trusting new people due to her past, needing time to build trust, but once she feels safe, she is affectionate and a wonderful companion. She needs mental stimulation, exercise, and a family that knows or is willing to learn about the breed. We are looking for a family that will integrate her as part of the family, not to live in a kennel or as a permanent property guard. She tested positive for leishmaniasis but is being monitored and treated and can lead a happy life with proper care.
