Everything we are able to do for dogs begins with the support of our community. Behind every clean kennel, every meal, and every step forward a dog makes, there is someone who chose to support that work. Fundraising is about creating those connections. It’s about helping people understand the difference they can make and inviting them to be part of it. In this role, you’ll contribute to that in a way that suits you - whether that’s through conversations with the public, supporting events, or helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. Every contribution plays a part in making better outcomes possible for dogs. This is a varied role with a mix of public-facing and behind-the-scenes opportunities. You can get involved in ways that suit your confidence and interests, from engaging with the community to supporting campaigns and event administration. Supporting a range of fundraising activities, from small on-site events to larger community initiatives Engaging with members of the public at events or stalls, sharing our work in an approachable and authentic way (if you choose to take on public-facing tasks) Helping to set up, run, and pack down events, ensuring everything runs smoothly Supporting donation handling in line with guidance Assisting with campaign support tasks such as preparing materials, organising resources, or helping with coordination Supporting admin-based activities linked to fundraising and events (e.g. tracking items, preparing packs, or helping with communications) Contributing ideas for fundraising activities and community engagement Representing the organisation in a way that reflects our values and approach to animal welfare Confidence communicating with people in a way that feels natural to you Skills in representing a cause with clarity, empathy, and authenticity Experience across both people-facing and behind-the-scenes fundraising activities Confidence (or willingness to build confidence) in social settings A warm and approachable communication style Team awareness and adaptability Ability to adjust your approach for different people and situations Sensitivity and discretion when handling personal information or conversations Reliability and a positive attitude Build confidence in communication, storytelling, and community engagement at your own pace Gain experience across a mix of event-based, practical, and admin-focused activities Develop transferable skills in teamwork, organisation, and problem-solving Be part of a supportive team working towards a shared goal Play a direct role in making meaningful change possible for dogs Meet a wide range of people and get to know them in a relaxed, supportive setting Feel part of something shared, where everyone is working towards the same goal Experience the satisfaction that comes from contributing in a way that genuinely matters This role offers a flexible starting point, allowing you to build experience in ways that suit your interests and strengths. Some volunteers choose to grow into more public-facing roles, becoming confident in engaging with the community and representing our work. Others prefer to develop behind the scenes, supporting the organisation and coordination that make events and campaigns possible. As you build confidence, there may also be opportunities to explore other areas across the organisation, alongside access to learning opportunities and new volunteer roles as they develop. Please note: satisfactory references are required for all volunteer roles. Some roles may also require a DBS check as part of the onboarding process. Applicants must be aged 18 or over. Applications from under 18s will not be processed and will be removed without further contact.
