We are Granny and Dave, a loving cockatiel pair seeking the great happiness together. This is us: I, Dave, have chronic problems with my eye. The suspicion (no concrete diagnosis) is an incompletely closing eyelid. This results in my eyes producing excessive tear fluid, causing the area to quickly become crusty. Treatment is not currently being pursued. My best friend Granny didn't get her name for nothing: she probably hatched in 2011 – and you can clearly see my dear Nymphi-Omi's age. She has arthroses in her shoulder joints and can therefore no longer fly. She is currently receiving pain medication twice a day. We wish for a wonderful home with plenty of space and variety. Cockatiels are very curious, open birds and thus also suit beginners well. They greatly appreciate attention and mental stimulation. In pure apartment living, the cage for two cockatiels should be at least 1.60 meters long, approximately 50 to 60 centimeters deep, and about 1 meter high. Additionally, daily free flight and several landing spots with natural branches are important. When you keep cockatiels outdoors, the size of the cage depends on the number of animals. Do you perhaps have a place for us?

Wir sind Granny und Dave ein liebes Nymphensittich-Pärchen, das gemeinsam das große Glück sucht. Das sind wir: Ich, Dave, habe chronische Probleme mit dem Auge. Die Vermutung (keine konkrete Diagnose) ist ein nicht komplett schließendes Augenlid. Das hat zur Folge, dass die Augen übermäßig viel Tränenflüssigkeit produzieren, was dafür sorgt, dass der Bereich schnell verklebt. Eine Behandlung erfolgt derzeit nicht. Meine beste Freundin Granny hat ihren Namen nicht umsonst: Sie ist wahrscheinlich 2011 geschlüpft – und das sieht man meiner lieben Nymphi-Omi natürlich schon an. Sie hat Arthrosen in Schultergelenken und kann deshalb nicht mehr fliegen. Sie bekommt aktuell zweimal täglich Schmerzmittel. Wir wünschen uns ein tolles Zuhause mit viel Platz und Abwechslung. Nymphensittiche sind sehr neugierige, aufgeschlossene Vögel und eignen sich somit auch gut für noch unerfahrene Vogelhalter. Über Aufmerksamkeit und Beschäftigung freuen sie sich sehr. In reiner Wohnungshaltung sollte die Voliere für zwei Nymphensittiche mindestens 1,60 m lang, ca. 50 bis 60 cm tief und ca. 1 m hoch sein. Außerdem ist täglicher Freiflug und mehrere Anflugstellen aus Naturästen wichtig. Bei der Außenvolierenhaltung ist die Größe der Voliere abhängig von der Anzahl der Tiere Magst du uns vielleicht ein Plätzchen schenken?
