The sweet Lexi sat in a corner of the shelter at the beginning of our visit, looking very shy and simply sad and overwhelmed. She had only recently arrived and probably didn't know what was happening to her. Suddenly, there was loud barking, unrest, strange dogs, and the stressful shelter life. For such a sensitive young female dog, this was initially too much. But within a few days, Lexi began to slowly warm up and showed more and more of her wonderful nature. It was especially beautiful to see how happy she was when she got a playmate. Suddenly, they were running around, playing, and jumping joyfully in the run. In such moments, one realizes how much joy of life is actually in her and how much she simply wants to be a dog. Unfortunately, these moments in the shelter are always too short. For the individual dogs, there is simply not enough time and attention. While she, who is only about ten months old, still has her whole life ahead of her. Her situation is particularly sad because Lexi is likely to be one of the larger dogs and may also have some herding dog traits. Such dogs often have it harder later on to find suitable homes if they stay in the shelter for too long. Herding dogs are often seen as very loyal, sensitive, and close companions to their people, but they also bring an independent character with them. They do not simply act blindly according to the motto "Will to please," but often question situations and want to be led fairly, calmly, and clearly. For this reason, such dogs need people with patience, understanding, and loving consistency. Once she has won their trust, they often develop an incredibly close bond with their trusted people and become faithful companions for life. That is why we urgently wish for Lexi a foster home or, of course, a loving home, so that she can finally begin to learn the real life. For Lexi, we wish for a rural home with space and people who are willing to challenge her both physically and mentally. Larger dogs benefit from clear structures, security, and a quiet environment. Despite her size, Lexi shows incredible gentleness, affection, and cuddliness. She seeks the company of humans, enjoys attention very much, and often behaves like a big baby, simply looking for security and safety. Once she has gained trust, she shows herself to be happy, playful, and clingy. Her new family should also be aware that Lexi has not yet lived in a house. Leash manners, house training, being alone, or everyday routines are still completely new to her and need to be built up patiently. Additionally, Lexi is in the middle of her teenage years, a time when boundaries are tested and previously learned things are sometimes forgotten. But Lexi brings the best prerequisites to learn together with her people and continue to develop. With patience, understanding, and loving consistency, she will certainly develop into a wonderful companion. Lexi would certainly be happy to attend a positively working dog training class to gain security and grow into a great team with her people. Lexi travels microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport to her new home. Stand: 30.05. Thank you also to Isabel for naming Lexi and giving her the chance to have her own home.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 24.09.2026
