Mina was found as a young female dog injured in a roadside ditch and taken to the vet. Unfortunately, the fracture was very complicated and it was initially unclear whether Mina would even be able to keep the leg. In an operation, bone tissue was transplanted from the tail, so the tail is now also somewhat shorter. Mina is doing fine these days. She has recovered well from all the operations and everything has healed well so far. However, what has unfortunately remained is that the right hind leg is now shorter, and of course we cannot predict how the uneven load from the misalignment will affect her hips in the long term. Mina will therefore not be a sports dog, so unsuitable for long hikes and agility etc. But Mina is also perfectly happy just being part of things. She likes to relax on her chair and watch what's going on around her. Sometimes she plays joyfully with her friend Emmi, who is a bit younger. Both live in a group with two older dogs in the yard in front of the shelter with access to the front hallway: Buck and Gracie. Mina gets along very well with other dogs, and we would be very happy if we could find Mina a quiet, ground-floor home with access to a garden as a second or third dog.

Mina wurde als junge Hündin verletzt im Straßengraben gefunden und zum Tierarzt gebracht. Leider war der Bruch sehr kompliziert und zunächst war auch unklar ob Mina das Bein überhaupt behalten konnte. In einer Operation wurde Knochengewebe aus der Rute transplantiert, daher ist diese nun auch etwas kürzer. Mittlerweile geht es Mina prima. Sie hat sich von all den Operationen gut erholt und es ist soweit auch alles gut verheilt. Was jedoch leider zurück geblieben ist, dass das rechte Hinterbein nun kürzer ist und wir natürlich nicht vorhersagen können wie sich die Fehlbelastung der Schiefstellung dauerhaft auf ihre Hüfte beidseits auswirken wird. Mina wird daher keine Sportskanone sein, also ungeeignet für lange Wanderungen und Agility etc. Aber Mina ist auch ganz zufrieden damit, einfach dabei sein zu dürfen. Sie liegt gerne entspannt auf ihrem Sessel und beobachtet das Geschehen um sie herum. Zwischendurch spielt sie auch ausgelassen mit ihrer Freundin Emmi, die etwas jünger ist. Beide leben in reiner Gruppe mit 2 älteren Hunden im Auslauf vor dem Shelter mit Zugang zum vorderen Flur: Buck und Gracie. Mit Hunden kommt Mina also supergut zurecht und wir würden uns sehr freuen wenn wir für Mina ein ruhiges, ebenerdiges Zuhause mit Zugang zu einem Garten als Zweit- oder Dritthund finden würden.
