Meet Nigel, our scruffy bundle of joy who has captured the hearts of everyone here at the centre. Once he knows you Nigel is just wonderful to be around. He's an affectionate, playful lad and loves working with his known people on training such as ‘Look at me’ and ‘Chin rest’. He says he’ll do anything for a sausage! He also loves exploring and his very favourite thing in the world is going on big sniffy walks. Luckily he travels well in the car and so would thoroughly enjoy lots of exciting adventures with his new family. He may have the odd accident when he first comes home after being in kennels for a while, but we’re sure he will remember his house-training quickly. We also think he’ll be happy to be left for a few hours once he’s settled in and knows the routine. Nigel is looking to have his family all to himself as he can feel worried by other dogs. He will need support initially to manage his space out and about otherwise he can become a little anxious and unsure. However, he has been working really hard with his handlers on training to help him with this, and he will only get better and better as he realises he doesn’t need to worry any more. We think a calm, predictable home will be best for Nigel as he can still become over-aroused if everything is super exciting! When he first meets people he does like to have a little space initially - just to check people out - but once he’s done this and feels safe he will come up onto your lap for big fusses and you’ll have a buddy for life. He has a lot of love to give, along with the very best cuddles! We all love Nigel and can’t wait for him to find his very own family.
