Blind = Death Sentence? Imagine you are just entering this world. You can't see anything, but that's not so bad because your nose works great. You know all those around you – your mom, your siblings. Your world is soft and warm. But there's this giant who doesn't smell like family, but you recognize him by his scent. And suddenly, he takes you away from your mom. Though his hands are warm, it's not the same as the warmth of your family. And then he puts you in this noisy thing that wobbles and stinks, and brings you to a place that smells strange – of medicine and fear. And he tells another giant that you are not allowed to live anymore. That you must die, all alone in this strange, frightening place… Wouldn't you wish for someone to save you? That's what Laysa did. She saved the approximately eight-week-old, blind puppy, because he deserves a happy life too. She named him Sól (Sun) in the hope that he will soon become the sunshine of a loving family. Although various examinations are still needed, and the little one is too young to travel, we urgently need a home for the little button. Because of the Parvovirus outbreak in Spain, he cannot go to the shelter and will be temporarily taken in by a foster family, but that is only a short-term solution. Who can help? Blind = Todesurteil? Stell Dir vor, Du bist ganz neu in dieser Welt. Du kannst nichts sehen, aber das ist gar nicht so schlimm, denn Deine Nase funktioniert ausgezeichnet. Du kennst alle, die stets um Dich herum sind – Deine Mama, Deine Geschwister. Deine Welt ist weich und warm. Aber da gibt es so einen Riesen, der riecht nicht nach Familie. Aber auch ihn erkennst Du am Geruch. Und plötzlich nimmt er Dich Deiner Mama weg. Zwar sind seine Hände warm, aber es ist nicht das gleiche wie die Wärme Deiner Familie. Und dann setzt der Riese Dich in so ein lautes Ding, das wackelt und stinkt, und bringt Dich an einen Ort, der ganz seltsam riecht – nach Medizin und Angst. Und sagt zu einem anderen Riesen, dass Du nicht mehr leben darfst. Dass Du sterben sollst, ganz allein an diesem fremden, furchteinflößenden Ort … Würdest Du Dir nicht auch wünschen, dass jemand Dich rettet? Genau das hat Laysa getan. Sie hat den etwa acht Wochen alten, blinden Welpen gerettet, denn auch er verdient ein glückliches Leben. Sie hat ihn Sól (Sonne) genannt in der Hoffnung, dass er ganz schnell zum Sonnenschein einer liebevollen Familie wird. Zwar stehen noch verschiedene Untersuchungen an, und noch ist der Kleine zu jung, um zu reisen, doch wir suchen dringend ein Zuhause für den kleinen Knopf. Weil in Spanien gerade wieder das Parvovirus umgeht, kann er auf keinen Fall ins Refugio und wird erst einmal von einer Pflegefamilie aufgenommen, doch auch das ist nur eine kurzfristige Lösung. Wer kann helfen? Wer ist bereit, dem kleinen Sól ein Zuhause zu schenken?
