Her story: The lively Soul is waiting in her foster family for her forever home. There, she can settle in peace, discover the world, and make daily progress. She is open to her people, friendly, and warm-hearted – but strangers need a large portion of patience and treats to become popular with her. Once she has you in her heart, however, there is no turning back – especially not for a reunion, as the joy is great! Slowly, Soul is exploring the city life, getting used to passing cars and cyclists. Due to circumstances, there are still some things (like trash cans, for example) that she needs to explore with great care and thoughtfulness. Other dogs can sometimes be scary for her, but often also very exciting, so we are working on the fact that not every "hello" needs to be said. After the first sniff, the tension drops, and she usually masters a walk with other four-legged friends quite well. Children are still very suspicious to her, probably because they are new to her. One thing can be said for sure: she is brave – because she lets herself be approached by her trusted people in all situations, which can be tackled together. She runs, plays, and burrows, but she also loves to cuddle (especially on your lap) and enjoys the affection of her foster family. She knows a few commands, patiently waits for her food, travels well in the car, and is already quite advanced in house training. The alone time should be practiced more; doing laundry in the basement or taking a shower is no problem for her now. At the moment, Soul is about 45 cm tall and weighs 13 kg; the vet said she will likely weigh around 20 kg. Otherwise, her soft eyes and especially her rabbit ears are an absolute magnet for passing by-passers – understandable, how can one resist her! It will require dog intelligence and activity to do Soul justice. That's why we are looking for a home with confident trusted people who can give her the necessary security, bring patience, and open their hearts to the little mouse – because then Soul will become a faithful companion who likes to go through life with you. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. In the first year of life, young dogs should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more exhausting puberty is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned so far, and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent but loving in training. Positive dog training classes will certainly help. And there is also good news: this phase will pass! Soul is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has her EU pet passport. Ihre Geschichte: Die aufgeweckte Soul wartet in ihrer Pflegefamilie auf ihr Für-Immer-Zuhause. Dort kann sie seit Mitte Mai in Ruhe ankommen, die Welt entdecken und täglich neue Fortschritte machen. Zu ihren Menschen ist sie offen, zugewandt und herzlich – Fremde brauchen jedoch eine große Portion Geduld und Leckerlis, um bei ihr beliebt zu werden. Hat sie dich jedoch erst einmal in ihr Herz geschlossen, gibt es kein Halt mehr – vor allem nicht, wenn es um ein Wiedersehen geht, da ist die Freude groß! Langsam erkundet Soul das Stadtleben, kennt vorbeifahrende Autos und Radfahrer. Situationsbedingt gibt es noch manche Dinge (Mülltonnen z.B.), die ganz vorsichtig und mit Bedacht erkundet werden. Andere Hunde sind für sie manchmal unheimlich, aber oft auch sehr spannend, sodass wir daran arbeiten, dass nicht jedem „Hallo“ gesagt werden kann. Nach dem ersten Beschnuppern lässt die Anspannung nach und auch ein Spaziergang mit anderen Vierbeinern meistert sie super. Kinder sind ihr noch sehr suspekt, vermutlich sind sie ihr neu. Eins kann auf jeden Fall gesagt werden, mutig ist sie – denn durch ihre Bezugspersonen lässt sie sich an alle Situation heranführen, sodass diese gemeinsam gemeistert werden können. Sie läuft, tobt und buddelt gerne, aber mindestens genauso gerne kuschelt (gerne auch direkt auf dem Schoß) und genießt sie die Zuwendung ihrer Pflegefamilie. Sie kennt die ersten Kommandos, wartet geduldig auf ihr Futter, fährt gut im Auto mit und auch in der Stubenreinheit ist sie bereits weit gekommen. Das Alleinbleiben müsste langsam geübt werden; die Wäsche im Keller anstellen oder duschen gehen ist auch jetzt schon kein Problem. Inzwischen ist Soul ca. 45 cm groß und 13 kg schwer, die Tierärztin meinte, dass sie wohl bei ca. 20 kg landen wird. Ansonsten sind ihre weichen Augen und besonders ihre Hasenohren ein absoluter Magnet für vorbeilaufende Passanten – verständlich, wie soll man ihr auch widerstehen! Es wird Hundeverstand und Aktivität brauchen, um Soul gerecht zu werden. Deshalb suchen wir für sie ein Zuhause mit souveränen Bezugspersonen, welche ihr die nötige Sicherheit geben können, Geduld mitbringen und ihr Herz für die kleine Maus öffnen möchten – denn dann wird Soul zur treuen Begleiterin, die gerne mit dir durchs Leben geht. Sie freut sich schon auf ihr neues Leben mit schönen Spaziergängen in der Natur, vielen Schmusestunden und auch auf einen Besuch in der Welpenschule. Im ersten Lebensjahr sollten junge Hunde so wenig wie möglich allein sein. Außerdem steht die eher anstrengende Pubertätszeit bevor. Das Hormonchaos stellt das Leben der kleinen Racker auf den Kopf. Sie “vergessen” oft alles, was sie bisher gelernt haben, und die Ohren schalten auf Durchzug. Daher ist es in dieser Phase besonders wichtig, konsequent – aber liebevoll – zu erziehen. Eine positiv arbeitende Hundeschule hilft bestimmt dabei. Und es gibt auch eine gute Nachricht: Auch diese Phase geht vorüber! Soul ist geimpft, gechipt, entwurmt und entfloht und besitzt ihren EU-Heimtierausweis. Nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro kann sie in ihr neues Zuhause ziehen.
