Update on Tam - 1 month in the UK!“100% good girl” said our volunteers working with Tam at the Rotherham kennels. She is a confident, willing to learn and cheeky girl that is ready for a home of her own. She has been working on her foundation commands such as loose lead walking, recall and touch markers. She loves walks. rolling around in mud, having a splash in water and zooming around with doggie friends. Day to day she is spending time with volunteers feeding and playing with her, exposing her to new environments, introducing her to day-to-day items and building up her confidence around the car and men with the help of the amazing volunteers day by day. Tam, has been at the shelter since March 2023, who came in as a puppy and will be coming over to the kennels in Rotherham to find a new home. In February 2026, Estelle (founder and volunteer) was recently over in Romania and met Tam. She said, “She is an absolute delight and I fell in love with her, reminding her of her own dog and Amber, a gorgeous foster I had a few years back”. During this period of volunteering, Estelle took her on lots of adventures and coped very well. She is cheeky, loves people, great with dogs, but not yet cat tested. She is really curious and wants to explore. She managed to stay a couple of times with Estelle at the flat they stayed in whilst in Romania and had a good nosey around the flat a few times! She ate lots of good treats too, tuna, eggs and lots of pate! She loves to have a run around, however, mid run loves to stop for a quick cuddle before darting off again for a zoomie. Tam got the opportunity to walk around the local town, Solca, and around the shelter on a lead and harness. She met with other dogs well. She displayed some nervousness around traffic, which is understandable, and with time and slow exposure, she will build up confidence. In addition, some general life worries, such as stairs, will need some time to build up, like many new things in a home, but with slow exposure, this will be something she will combat. She has been at the shelter for 3 years, and she is incredible and adapted well to whatever Estelle did with her. If you think you have the love and patience required to be Tam’s forever, please complete our adoption form and express your interest in her today!
