Our staff members are constantly confronted with this issue and try to explain to potential adopters why the animal shelter insists on the payment of an adoption fee. Considering the actual costs like housing and medical care, the adoption fee merely represents a cost contribution—it neither covers the incurred costs nor is it profitable.

Unter Berücksichtigung der tatsächlichen Kosten wie Unterbringung und medizinische Versorgung handelt es sich bei der Schutzgebühr lediglich um eine Kostenbeteiligung – weder deckt die Gebühr die entstandenen Kosten ab, noch ist sie gewinnbringend.
