A larger, older (born 01.2010) dog has a life story as colorful as his beautiful coat and full of emotions like himself. He is a very gentle dog by nature, shy. He does not always control his emotions (whether from fear or during the excitement of meeting a favorite person). When he feels safe with an accepted and trusted person, he shows another side - he loves closeness, shared relaxation, cuddling, and massages. He lies down, exposes his belly. He is always trying to be a well-behaved dog. Above all, despite his shy nature, he values social contacts and strongly seeks them. It is visible - contact with selected people or dogs is everything for him! He focuses his attention on the caretaker. For him, it is beautiful to perform commands, to try to please him. At dog training sessions, he was always the top student, and at group outings from the animal shelter "to the city," he was always the calmest dog in the whole group. With a chosen canine friend, he was often able to go crazy positively in the yard - until his friend found a home, and Zaj was again "alone." He is still learning to trust people, so he requires socialization and patient taming with a new environment, including a potential adopter. He needs support from a loving, patient, experienced person who works with shy dogs and is also firm. With a little work and commitment, and by spending the right amount of time on him, you can gain his trust, and through that, the most loyal friend. Perhaps dogs like Zaj cannot "advertise" themselves, scaring away visitors to the animal shelter, but those they trust will love them with all their heart and remember even after months or years. If a home can provide him with support, patience, and emotional stability, Zaj will manage everything. He needs clear and straightforward rules, routine, and peace. The future caregiver must give him time and not be discouraged by bad days. In the house, he does not have to be an only child (but he must like the dog roommate during introductions, who should be similar in size, stable, and with social skills. This way, he will become a guide and support for the new companion). Zaj should not end up in a home with small children (or older ones who follow the rules established during introductions). Of course, he could also live as an only dog with a single person. The most important thing here is mutual "chemistry" and building trust, which will help Zaj to overcome his fears (related to new places and situations that will happen after adoption - and we know he can handle them very well!). Future caregivers of Zaj must be aware that they will be working with a dog. Zaj is certainly not a problem-free pet! At least a few meet-and-greets are mandatory before adoption - Zaj sets the dates here and must feel comfortable in the new relationship before moving into the home. We believe that somewhere, such a home and a person are waiting for him. Autumn of life should be spent in a home, not behind the bars of a kennel.

Większy, starszy (ur. 01.2010) pies, ma za sobą historię życia barwną jak jego przepiękne futro i pełną emocji jak on sam. Jest to psiak bardzo delikatny z natury, lękliwy. Nie zawsze panuje nad swoimi emocjami (czy to ze strachu, czy podczas ekscytacji spotkaniem ulubionej osoby). Gdy czuje się bezpiecznie przy zaakceptowanej i zaufanej osobie, pokazuje inne oblicze - uwielbia bliskość, wspólny odpoczynek, mizianie, masaże. Kładzie się, odkrywa brzuch. Cały czas bardzo stara się być grzecznym psem. Bo nade wszystko, mimo swojej lękliwej natury, ceni sobie kontakty socjalne i bardzo o nie zabiega. To widać - kontakt z wybranymi przez siebie osobami lub psami jest dla niego wszystkim! Na opiekunie skupia swoją uwagę. Dla niego pięknie wykonuje komendy, stara się go zadowolić. Na psich szkoleniach zawsze był prymusem, a na grupowych wyjściach psów ze schroniska „na miasto” był zawsze najspokojniejszym psem z całej paczki. Z wybranym psim przyjacielem niejednokrotnie potrafił szaleć pozytywnie na wybiegu - do czasu, aż jego przyjaciel znalazł dom, a Zaj znów został „sam”. Cały czas uczy się ufać ludziom, dlatego wymaga socjalizacji i cierpliwego oswajania z nowym otoczeniem, także potencjalnym adoptującym. Potrzebuje wsparcia kochającej, cierpliwej, doświadczonej w pracy z psami lękliwymi i jednocześnie stanowczej osoby. Przy odrobinie pracy i zaangażowania oraz po poświęceniu mu odpowiedniej dawki czasu można zdobyć jego zaufanie, a przez to najwierniejszego przyjaciela. Bo być może psy takie jak Zaj nie potrafią się „zareklamować”, odstraszając na wszelki wypadek odwiedzające schronisko nowe osoby, ale te, którym zaufa - pokocha całym sercem i pamięta nawet po miesiącach, latach. Jeśli dom zapewni mu wsparcie, cierpliwość, stabilność emocjonalną, to Zaj wszystko sobie poukłada. Potrzebuje jasnych i klarownych reguł, rutyny oraz spokoju. Na pewno przyszły opiekun musi dać mu czas i nie zrażać się gorszymi dniami. W domu nie musi być jedynakiem (ale musi polubić podczas zapoznań psiego domownika, który powinien być podobnych rozmiarów stabilnym, pełnym socjalnych kompetencji zwierzakiem. Stanie się dzięki temu przewodnikiem i wsparciem dla nowego towarzysza). Zaj nie powinien trafić do domu, gdzie są małe dzieci (a ewentualnie starsze trzymające się zasad wdrożonych podczas zapoznań). Oczywiście może też zamieszkać jako jedynak z samotną osobą. Tu najważniejsza jest obustronna „chemia” i zbudowanie zaufania, które pozwoli Zajowi przełamywać strachy (dotyczące nowych miejsc i sytuacji, które wydarzą się już po adopcji - a wiemy, że potrafi sobie z nimi świetnie radzić!). Przyszli opiekunowie Zaja muszą być świadomi, że czeka ich praca z psem. Zaj z pewnością nie jest bezproblemowym zwierzakiem! Przed adopcją obowiązkowe jest co najmniej kilka spotkań zapoznawczych - to Zaj wyznacza tutaj terminy i musi poczuć się komfortowo w nowej relacji, zanim trafi do domu. Wierzymy, że gdzieś taki dom i człowiek na niego czekają. Jesień życia powinien spędzić w domu, a nie za kratami boksu...
