We present Akin, a 2.5-year-old Belgian Malinois with the typical breed profile: intelligent, reactive, curious and determined. Akin is an attentive dog, who listens well and shows a great ability to learn. He likes to interact, play and shows particular motivation when given stimulating activities. His love of food is also an excellent tool for work and training. He is a dynamic dog, with a real need to expend energy, both physically and mentally. Exercises, activities and a structured environment will allow him to express all his potential. Akin is friendly with humans in direct interaction, as well as with other animals of the same species, even on a leash. He has a playful and engaged profile, with good motivation for work. A reactivity may appear in situations of frustration, especially behind barriers (wire fencing). It is important to note that his behavior in the shelter does not reflect his actual capabilities. The environment (noise, stress, living in a kennel) can amplify his excitement and hide his qualities. A work is currently underway regarding the use of a muzzle, which he already tolerates well. Nous vous présentons Akin, un berger malinois de 2 ans 1/2 au profil typique de la race : intelligent, réactif, curieux et déterminé. Akin est un chien attentif, qui écoute bien et montre une belle capacité d’apprentissage. Il aime interagir, jouer et se montre particulièrement motivé lorsqu’on lui propose des activités stimulantes. Son côté gourmand est d’ailleurs un excellent levier pour le travail et l’éducation. C’est un chien dynamique, avec un réel besoin de se dépenser, tant physiquement que mentalement. Les exercices, les activités et un cadre structuré lui permettront d’exprimer tout son potentiel. Akin est sociable avec les humains en interaction directe, ainsi qu’avec ses congénères, y compris en laisse. Il présente un profil joueur et engagé, avec une bonne motivation au travail. Une réactivité peut apparaître en situation de frustration, notamment derrière des barrières (grillage). Il est important de souligner que son comportement en refuge ne reflète pas ses capacités réelles. L’environnement (bruit, stress, vie en niche) peut amplifier son excitation et masquer ses qualités. Un travail est actuellement en cours concernant le port de la muselière, qu’il tolère déjà bien.
