There are a huge number of homeless dogs in Romania. Each day they struggle to survive, and for many their life on the streets, searching for food, ends quickly. Local animal lovers try their best to help the dogs. One of those who helped dogs lived in the village of Mitreni. Over the years, a woman had collected dogs rescued from the streets, and finally, there were over 100 dogs living in a simple shelter kennel in her yard. In October 2020, the woman's life ended suddenly when her ex-husband stabbed her. A concerned relative contacted the only person they trusted regarding the dogs, Carmen, the caretaker of Carpe's farm, so that the dogs could be saved from being put down. Together with several other local animal protectors, Carmen spent several days trapping the scared and frightened dogs. About half of the dogs were placed in private farms, and the rest ended up at Carpe. Blaine is one of the dogs that came from the woman. He is very curious about people and is quite cheerful even when meeting strangers. Although he does not quite dare to come within touching distance, Blaine does eat treats offered directly from the hand. He has been living with the same male dog all the time and they get along well, but it is not known how he reacts to other dogs. However, he is the type that easily avoids things if, for example, there are words coming from the treats. Blaine is looking for an experienced and patient home or foster home where they can get to know him better.

Kodittomia koiria on Romaniassa valtavasti. He kamppailevat jokainen päivä selviytymisestään ja monen kohdalla turvaton elämä liikenteen seassa ruokaa etsien loppuu lyhyeen. Paikalliset eläinrakkaat ihmiset pyrkivät parhaansa mukaan auttamaan koiria. Yksi koiria auttavista henkilöistä asui Mitrenin kylässä. Erakoituneelle rouvalle oli vuosien saatossa kertynyt kaduilta pelastettuja koiria ja lopulta hänen pihalle kyhätyllä alkeellisella tarhalla asui yli sata koiraa. Lokakuussa 2020 rouvan elämä päättyi yllättäen, kun hänen ex-miehensä puukotti häntä. Koirista huolestunut läheinen otti yhteyttä ainoaan henkilöön johon luotti koirien suhteen, Carpen tarhan ylläpitäjään Carmeniin, jotta koirat pelastuisivat lopetukselta. Yhdessä muutaman muun paikallisen eläinsuojelijan kanssa Carmen vietti tarhalla useita päiviä pyydystäen pelokkaita ja järkyttyneitä koiria. Koirista noin puolet sijoitettiin muille yksityisille tarhoille ja loput päätyivät Carpeen. Blaine on yksi rouvalta tulleista koirista. Hän suhtautuu ihmisiin kovin uteliaasti ja on varsin iloisesti myös vieraita vastassa. Vaikka hän ei aivan uskalla tulla kosketusetäisyydelle, käy Blaine kuitenkin syömässä tarjotut herkut myös suoraan kädestä. Hän on asunut koko ajan saman uroksen kanssa ja he tulevat hyvin toimeen, mutta suhtautumista muihin koiriin ei tiedetä. Hän on kuitenkin kaksikosta se, joka herkästi väistää jos esimerkiksi herkuista tulee sanomista.
