FLIP i FLAP – a 1.5-year-old male FLIP i FLAP arrived at our shelter in October 2024 from the commune of Radłów. Due to the fact that they came to us during one intervention, they are of a similar age and show many common traits - we assumed they might be a family. Since they have been with us, they have been learning to walk on a leash, as it was likely unfamiliar to them before. At the moment, they are cautious, but sometimes curious about human contact. In their relationship with each other, Flap (smaller) is the stronger dog, thus more open to the environment and contact with people. Flip seems to be somewhat under Flap's control, has a clearly higher level of fear and is more withdrawn. We are currently working with them on opening up to relationships with caregivers, a sense of safety and self-confidence. We have the impression that the dogs do not fully know what to expect from interactions with people. At this moment, adoption is preferred to a home that has experience working with shy and withdrawn dogs and awareness of the process. At this moment, we also prefer adoption of both dogs at the same time. While on the yard, they explore the surroundings and direct their attention to people outside the yard. Flip i Flap – półtoraroczne samce Flip i Flap trafili do nas w październiku 2024 z gminy Radłów. Z uwagi na to, że trafili do nas w trakcie jednej interwencji, są w podobnym wieku i przejawiają sporo wspólnych cech – założyliśmy, że być może są rodziną. Odkąd są u nas, uczą się chodzić na smyczy, ponieważ najprawdopodobniej dotychczas było im to obce. Na ten moment są ostrożni, ale bywają ciekawi kontaktu z człowiekiem. W relacji między psami widać, że Flap (mniejszy), jest silniejszym psem, tym samym bardziej otwartym na otoczenie i kontakt z ludźmi. Flip zdaje się być nieco pod kontrolą Flapa, ma też wyraźnie wyższy poziom lęku i jest bardziej wycofany. Obecnie pracujemy z nimi nad otwarciem się na relację z opiekunami, poczuciem bezpieczeństwa i pewnością siebie. Odnosimy wrażenie, że psy nie do końca wiedzą czego mogą się spodziewać po interakcji z ludźmi. Na ten moment, preferowana jest adopcja do domu, który ma doświadczenie w pracy z lękowymi i wycofanymi psami i świadomością procesu. Na ten moment również preferujemy adopcję obydwu psów jednocześnie. Podczas pobytu na wybiegu eksplorują otoczenie i kierują swoją uwagę na ludzi będących poza wybiegiem.
