Heather is a beautiful lady with a sensitive soul and lots of personality once she opens up to you! She came into our care as a stray, covered in healing wounds and scars. We are not sure what happened to her before she arrived at Bristol ARC but she is a sweet girl that can be timid when meeting new people. Once she feels comfortable, she is excitable and will sometimes seek out affection and cuddles from her favourite people. There are times when she gets excited and can jump up a little bit with occasional gentle mouthing – but she is doing well with training and picking up toys when she’s feeling overly zealous! She is looking for a rural home that has a secure, private garden with tall boundary due to her prey drive. Heather is worried by busy traffic, loud noises and can be nervous of some dogs so a nice quiet walking route is required for her. A wooded area, fields or path away from the hustle and bustle is what this lovely girl needs in order to enjoy her walks. Due to her being a flight risk and prey drive she will need to remain on a lead or longline when out of the home. Heather can live with sensible children 16+ who will be able to respect when she needs space and wants to be independent – she isn’t the type of dog that enjoys being crowded or fussed unless she’s seeking affection. A lovely, playful lady that just needs some time and patience from a caring new family to flourish and build confidence.
