Today I would like to introduce you to Maarja – an approximately 7-year-old cat who came to me 4 years ago from Viimsi. Her two kittens – Maria and Marie – were very sick and stayed in the clinic's hospital. Now the cat family is healthy, but unfortunately, no one has come forward with a home for them yet. Initially, Maarja was extremely scared, hissed and attacked with her paws. Now she has calmed down and can be said to be rather gentle and quiet – she keeps her distance from people, sometimes barely touching the hand. She watches visitors from a distance, and her favorite sleeping spots are on the windowsill in the sunlight. Maarja has good relationships with other cats – they play and sleep together. In a private home, Maarja would make progress with people much faster. A social cat needs constant presence of a person and more individual attention than I can provide here from the cat room. All necessary procedures have been done for Maarja – she is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and has received regular parasite treatment. Täna tahab ennast teile tutvustada Maarja – umbes 7-aastane kassiema, kes saabus minu juurde 4 aastat tagasi Viimsist. Tema kaks pojakest – Maria ja Marie – olid algul väga haiged ja viibisid kliiniku statsionaaris. Nüüdseks on kassipere terve, kuid ühtki kodupakkumist pole neile kahjuks tulnud. Algul oli Maarja äärmiselt hirmul, susises ja lõi käpaga. Praeguseks on ta rahunenud ja võib öelda, et on pigem leebe ja uje – hoiab inimestest eemale, lastes vahel harva ka pai teha. Külalisi jälgib ta eemalt, lemmikud magamiskohad on aknalaual päikeselaigus. Teiste kassidega on Maarja suhted head – nendega mängitakse ja magatakse kaisus. Omas kodus oleksid Maarja edusammud inimestega kordades kiiremad. Arglikul kassil on vaja inimese pidevat kohalolekut ja suuremat individuaalset tähelepanu, kui mina siin kassitoas teiste kõrvalt pakkuda suudan. Maarjale on tehtud kõik vajalikud protseduurid – ta on vaktsineeritud, kiibistatud, steriliseeritud ning saanud korrapäraselt parasiiditõrjet.
