Delly este un băiat frumos, jucăuș cu o parte blândă și afectuoasă care strălucește odată ce se simte confortabil. Îi place să fie în preajma oamenilor și va primi cu plăcere atenția, fiind un companion minunat pentru o familie gata să-l includă în viața lor zilnică. Este fan al jucăriilor, jocurilor și petrecând timp cu oamenii săi și va aduce multă bucurie și căldură în casă. Delly are, de asemenea, o natură blândă și dulce, iar acele momente liniștite de îmbrățișări și conexiune vor deveni rapid ceva foarte special. Cu timp, răbdare și o mică încurajare, Delly va crește în încredere și se va dezvolta cu adevărat. A vedea cum se adaptează, învață și se bucură de viață într-o casă va fi extrem de recompensator. Dacă cauți un câine prietenos, afectuos cu un spirit jucăuș și multă dragoste de oferit, Delly ar putea fi completul complet pentru familia ta. Delly caută o casă drăguță și iubitoare unde poate face parte din familie și să aibă mulți oameni în jur. Ar fi cel mai potrivit pentru o casă cu copii în vârstă de școală secundară, care să înțeleagă nevoile lui și să aprecieze natura lui jucăușă și afectuoasă. Ar dori să-și împartă casa cu un câine calm, potrivit ca mărime, care să fie un companion blând și să-l ajute să se adapteze la viața de casă. Delly apreciază compania altor câini, dar ar beneficia de un prieten canin relaxat, nu unul prea activ. Deoarece încă își găsește calea într-un mediu casnic, Delly ar beneficia foarte mult de adoptanți prezenți majoritatea zilei inițial, ajutându-l să se adapteze și să-și construiască încrederea. El va prospăra cu ghidare răbdătoare și antrenament bazat pe recompense (nu va refuza un gustos snack sau două!), iar un program constant îl va ajuta să se simtă sigur și în siguranță. O grădină sigură și sprijin continuu pe măsură ce se adaptează îl vor ajuta să devină un companion fericit și echilibrat.

Out on walks Delly enjoys a stroll by your side, and he doesn’t pull on lead, preferring a slower, shorter walk. Delly has been muzzled trained and wears his muzzle happily when out on his jaunts with his carers. He is the gentlest of boys and enjoys a fuss and affection by all who will give it to him. His foster carers say he is such an easy dog to have around, he sleeps downstairs quietly all night without a peep. Stairs, however, are Delly arch nemesis and it has taken him a few weeks to figure them out, but he still isn’t a massive fan of going up or down them but is learning every day that they’re not so scary. Delly travels great in the car, liking to stick his head out the window; though does prefer to be lifted in rather than putting the effort to climb in himself. Delly has had a few road trips with his carers and had visits to the local dog friendly beer gardens and cafes. He is housetrained and generally the perfect house guest. His ideal family would allow Delly time to settle into a new environment at his own pace. He could live with primary school aged children and over and has the potential to live with another pooch with the same calm demeanour and outlook on life. Delly is a 3-year-old ex-racing greyhound; he is spending his time with us in the care of some of our amazing foster carers to help Delly settle into the home environment now he has retired from racing. Initially, Delly can be shy when he first went into the foster home but comes out of his shell once he has settled in and begins to trust his people. Dinner time is his most favourite time of the day; he will stomp his feet and puff his cheeks waiting in anticipation for his foster carers to make his dinner. Another favourite of Delly’s is playing; especially with a ball. He will quite happily entertain himself or play with his carers or his foster sibling Mel (seen in pics, blue greyhound). Though his favourite pass time is sunbathing in the garden, having an afternoon snooze in the sun!
