Delly est un charmant, joueur, qui a un côté doux et affectueux qui apparaît une fois qu'il se sent en confiance. Il aime être autour des personnes et il profitera volontiers de l'attention, ce qui le rend idéal comme compagnon pour une famille prête à l'intégrer dans sa vie quotidienne. Il adore les jouets, les jeux et passer du temps avec ses maîtres, et il apportera beaucoup de plaisir et de chaleur à la maison. Delly a également une nature douce et aimable, et ces moments calmes de câlin et de connection deviendront rapidement quelque chose de vraiment spécial. Avec du temps, de la patience et un peu d'encouragement, Delly gagnera en confiance et véritablement prospérera. Le voir s'installer, apprendre et profiter de la vie dans une maison sera extrêmement réconfortant. Si vous cherchez un chien amical, affectueux, plein de vie et plein d'amour à donner, Delly pourrait être l'ajout parfait à votre famille. Delly cherche un foyer bienveillant et aimant où il pourra faire partie de la famille et profiter de beaucoup de compagnie. Il serait le plus adapté à un foyer avec des enfants âgés de secondaire, qui comprennent ses besoins et peuvent apprécier son énergie joyeuse et affectueuse. Il aimerait partager sa maison avec un chien calme et bien adapté de taille similaire, qui puisse être un compagnon doux et l'aider à s'adapter à la vie en famille. Delly apprécie la compagnie d'autres chiens, mais il bénéficierait d'un ami canin relaxé plutôt qu'un qui soit trop intense. Comme il est encore en train de trouver ses marques dans un environnement domestique, Delly bénéficierait grandement d'adoptants présents pendant la majeure partie de la journée au début, afin de l'aider à s'installer et à développer sa confiance. Il prospérera grâce à un guide patient et une formation positive basée sur des récompenses (il ne refusera pas quelques friandises délicieuses !), et une routine constante l'aidera à se sentir en sécurité et en confiance. Un jardin sécurisé et un soutien continu pendant son adaptation l'aideront à fleurir en un compagnon heureux et équilibré.

Out on walks Delly enjoys a stroll by your side, and he doesn’t pull on lead, preferring a slower, shorter walk. Delly has been muzzled trained and wears his muzzle happily when out on his jaunts with his carers. He is the gentlest of boys and enjoys a fuss and affection by all who will give it to him. His foster carers say he is such an easy dog to have around, he sleeps downstairs quietly all night without a peep. Stairs, however, are Delly arch nemesis and it has taken him a few weeks to figure them out, but he still isn’t a massive fan of going up or down them but is learning every day that they’re not so scary. Delly travels great in the car, liking to stick his head out the window; though does prefer to be lifted in rather than putting the effort to climb in himself. Delly has had a few road trips with his carers and had visits to the local dog friendly beer gardens and cafes. He is housetrained and generally the perfect house guest. His ideal family would allow Delly time to settle into a new environment at his own pace. He could live with primary school aged children and over and has the potential to live with another pooch with the same calm demeanour and outlook on life. Delly is a 3-year-old ex-racing greyhound; he is spending his time with us in the care of some of our amazing foster carers to help Delly settle into the home environment now he has retired from racing. Initially, Delly can be shy when he first went into the foster home but comes out of his shell once he has settled in and begins to trust his people. Dinner time is his most favourite time of the day; he will stomp his feet and puff his cheeks waiting in anticipation for his foster carers to make his dinner. Another favourite of Delly’s is playing; especially with a ball. He will quite happily entertain himself or play with his carers or his foster sibling Mel (seen in pics, blue greyhound). Though his favourite pass time is sunbathing in the garden, having an afternoon snooze in the sun!
