Marnie was alone in the field when she saw one of our volunteers doing a rogaining, and she decided to follow her. When we arrived at the animal shelter, we noticed that she had a round belly, and the vet confirmed that she was carrying five podenquitos inside. She gave birth at the animal shelter and soon moved to a foster care home. Three of the five puppies were adopted, but the last two were not. After so much time together, and considering that one of them is much more fearful, we decided that we couldn't separate them, as the fearful one would likely be left alone, condemning him to loneliness. After waiting, no one offered to adopt them together. And their mom, Marnie, had to educate them at home and train them to be in shape. Now we can't separate the family unit. We know that it's not easy to adopt an entire family, but that's because people don't realize how easy it is to adopt an entire family. Paradoxical, huh?
