Acest cal îndurător are o poveste minunată ca oricare alta, este cunoscut pe insulă. A fost adus pe insulă ca Turbo, un cal de sărituri foarte scump și de nivel înalt, a avut o carieră excelentă în sărituri, era iubit, îngrijit bine și cunoscut pentru talentul său. A fost trist vândut unei case mai puțin competitive deoarece a învățat și a ajuns la o școală de călărie unde învăța sărirea. Se spune că a fost prea fierbinte și s-a aruncat din curte și a fugit cu elevii (credem acest lucru deoarece avea încă acel spirit până la sfârșit) unde lanțul a fost pierdut și într-un fel a fost lăsat în urmă. Câteva ani mai târziu o doamnă bună l-a salvat de la oase și piele, nu știind despre trecutul său, l-a chemat William. L-a iubit, l-a îngrijit și l-a adus la sănătate și a început o carieră în dressură (avea în jur de 19-20 de ani, dar avea mult de oferit). L-a avut câțiva ani, dar a crezut că era prea mult pentru el și deja avea alți cai, așa că l-a dat altcuiva ca să poată trăi viața sa de hobby. Într-un fel lanțul a fost pierdut din nou și a rămas flămând și luptând pentru viața lui a doua oară. De data aceasta a venit la noi în 2018 și pentru a onora trecutul său se numește Turbo Williams, trist, a fost aproape imposibil să stea pe picioare, am trebuit să chemăm veterinarul prima dată când s-a rostogolit credând că nu va reuși să se ridice din nou, dar avea o sănătate uimitor de bună pentru greutatea și vârsta lui, cu excepția unui abces mare exact la marginea coronară. Călcâiul său era aproape desprins când a ajuns la noi datorită lipsei de îngrijire și nutriție, dar ce era extrem de trist era că avea o pereche nouă de șosetă. Doar sperăm că nu a fost pentru că era călărit. O dietă specială, tăierea corectă și 7 luni fără mișcare, picioarele lui s-au recuperat complet, la fel ca el. A pus greutate treptat, dar frumos. La începutul reabilitării sale pentru formă nu părea promițător, nu mai avea niciun dor de viață. Trebuia să-l tragem prin luring cu mere pentru a obține cel mai mic gest de mișcare, dar cu timpul a acceptat că mersul pe jos era parte din viața lui acum și a acceptat să vină atunci când avea companie, totuși foarte supărat. Au fost multe momente în care nu credeam că avea forța să treacă prin asta. Dar a reușit și după 4 ani a venit momentul. Dar a petrecut 4 ani minunați fără așteptări. Plin de libertate, dragoste și fericire. Turbo ne-a părăsit acum, lăsând un gol mare în finca. Dar suntem toți fericiți că a plecat din lume fericit, în forma cea mai bună și încă șeful grădinii sale. Este cu siguranță cel mai minunat personaj și turma nu e mai aceea fără el. Vă mulțumim tuturor pentru sprijinul acordat și dragostea față de el. El va trăi întotdeauna cu noi. This poor horse has an amazing story like no others, he is famous on the island. He was brought to the island as Turbo, a very expensive high level jumping horse, he had a great career in jumping, he was well loved, well cared for and famous for his talent. He was sadly sold on to a less competitive home as he aged and ended up in a riding school teaching jumping. Rumour has it that he was too feisty and jumped out of the paddocks and ran away with students (we believe this as he still had this spirit until the very end) where the chain was lost and somehow he was abandoned. Some years later a kind lady rescued him from skin and bones not knowing his past she called him William. She loved him, cared for him and brought him back to health and started a career in dressage ( he was around 19-20 here but with a lot to give) She had him for some years but thought it was to much for him and she already had other horses so gave him to someone so he could enjoy his old life as a hobby horse. Somehow the chain was lost again and he was left starving and fighting for his life for the second time. This time he came to us in 2018 and to honour his past he is named Turbo Williams, sadly he was barely able to stand, we had to call the vet the first time he rolled thinking he wasn't going to make it up again, but he was in surprisingly good health for his weight and age other than a huge burst abscess right at the coronet band. His hoof was hardly attached when he came into our hands due to his lack of care and nutrition, but what was extremely sad was that he had a recent pair of shoes on. We only hope that this wasn't because he was being ridden. A tailored diet, correct trimming and 7 months without much movement his feet had made a full recovery as did he. He put on weight slowly but nicely. At the beginning of his rehabilitation for fitness it was not looking promising, he had no fight for life anymore. We had to drag him around with luring carrots to get the smallest bit of movement from him but with time he accepted that hand walking was part of his life now and agreed to come as long as he had company, however very miserable. There were many times we didn't think he had the fight to get through. But he did and 4 years later the time came. But he enjoyed 4 amazing years without expectation. Full of freedom, love and happiness. Turbo may have left us now, leaving a big hole in the finca. But we are all happy that he got to leave this world happy, on top form and still the boss of his paddock. He really is the most amazing character and the herd is not the same without him.
