Attila, born approximately February 2022, about 50 cm shoulder height, has been in the shelter since May 2022. Attila was rescued from the public animal shelter Scornicesti along with his siblings Alexander, Anne, Alexandra, and his mother Alessia. Just in time, as their chances of survival were low. While Alexander has already traveled to a new life, Attila, his siblings, and their mother are still waiting in the shelter with Maria. For Attila, the shelter has been everything he knows - his entire life has been spent there. The daily routine without close human contact has left its mark: Attila is a reserved, insecure young dog who currently cannot be touched. He observes a lot, prefers to stay at a distance - but there is also something curious in his gaze, a spark of what is possible. After a year (as of July 2026), he still cannot be petted, but as soon as you sit down and hold out your hand, he sniffs it. This is a big step forward, considering we haven't actively trained him for this due to time constraints. What Attila needs is an environment that gives him security. A quiet place where he can slowly learn to trust. People who don't push him but let him arrive at his own pace. The shelter is not the right place for this step - it needs time, patience, and stability. We wish for Attila a home with empathetic and experienced people who can show him what a good dog life is in peace and without time pressure or expectations. It should be okay if Attila never wants to go for a walk or cuddle like a normal dog. Maybe he will be good for one or two positive surprises. A securely fenced garden with direct access to the house is a basic requirement. Since Attila has poor placement chances, we would be very happy if someone would take a sponsorship for him. He is currently in Romania and can travel out if he finds a home. He will travel with a microchip and vaccinated (EU vaccination passport; vaccinations: rabies and basic immunization). All dogs are treated against intestinal parasites and ectoparasites at their arrival in the shelter and at least once a year thereafter. The described behavioral observations are based on everyday life in the shelter and may be different in a home environment under changed living conditions. 07/2026 Futterpatenschaft: Familie Weichel Tierarztpatenschaft: - Attila, geboren ca. 02/2022, ca. 50 cm Schulterhöhe, im Shelter seit 05/2022 Attila wurde gemeinsam mit seinen Geschwistern Alexander, Anne und Alexandra sowie seiner Mutter Alessia aus dem öffentlichen Tierheim Scornicesti gerettet – gerade noch rechtzeitig, denn ihre Überlebenschancen dort waren gering. Während Alexander inzwischen in ein neues Leben reisen durfte, warten Attila, seine Geschwister und die Mama noch im Shelter bei Maria. Für Attila ist das Shelter bislang alles, was er kennt – sein ganzes bisheriges Leben hat er dort verbracht. Der Alltag im Shelter ohne engen Menschenkontakt hat Spuren hinterlassen: Attila ist ein zurückhaltender, unsicherer junger Hund, der sich aktuell noch nicht anfassen lässt. Er beobachtet viel, bleibt lieber auf Abstand – doch in seinem Blick liegt auch etwas Neugier, ein Funke von dem, was möglich wäre. Nach nun einem Jahr (Stand 07/26) lässt er sich zwar noch nicht streicheln, doch sobald man sich hinhockt und ihm die Hand hinhält beschnuppert er sie. Das ist ein großer Fortschritt, wenn man bedenkt, dass wir das aus Zeitgründen nicht aktiv mit ihm trainiert haben. Was Attila braucht, ist ein Umfeld, das ihm Sicherheit gibt. Ein ruhiger Ort, in dem er langsam lernen darf, Vertrauen zu fassen. Menschen, die ihn nicht drängen, sondern ihn in seinem Tempo ankommen lassen. Das Shelter ist nicht der richtige Ort für diesen Schritt – dafür braucht es Zeit, Geduld und Stabilität. Wir wünschen uns für Attila ein Zuhause bei einfühlsamen und erfahrenen Menschen, die ihm in Ruhe und ohne Zeitdruck oder Erwartungshaltung zeigen, was ein gutes Hundeleben ist. Es sollte okay sein, wenn Attila nie wie ein normaler Hund Gassi gehen oder kuscheln will. Vielleicht ist er dann für die eine oder andere positive Überraschung gut. Ein sicher eingezäunter Garten mit direktem Zugang zum Haus ist Grundvoraussetzung. Da Attila nur schlechte Vermittlungschancen hat, würden wir uns sehr freuen, wenn jemand eine Patenschaft für ihn übernimmt. Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn er ein Zuhause gefunden hat. Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung). Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt. Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
