En vacker, kastanjebrun Greyhoundhane heter Barney. Han är född 23.08.2023 och är 3 år gammal. Han letar nu efter ett kärleksfullt hem för alltid. Barney är en trevlig pojke som precis börjar upptäcka världen bortom kennellivet. Som en före detta tävlingshund har han många nya syner, ljud och upplevelser att vänja sig vid, och han behöver tid, tålamod och försäkran när han hittar sina tassar. Barney har redan haft några utflykter med våra underbara volontärer. Farbror Paul tog honom på en promenad runt parken, där Barney var lite nervös för sin omgivning, särskilt trafiken. Men han kunde komma nära några små hundar utan några problem, vilket är uppmuntrande när vi lär oss mer om honom. Moster Fiona tog också Barney på en härlig utflykt till en lokal hundfält. Trots vinden och kraftiga regnet var Barney fascinerad av allt runt honom och njöt av att titta på världen under bilresan. När de kom till fältet hoppade han direkt ur bilen och började utforska alla nya syner, ljud och dofter. Det öppna utrymmet var lite överväldigande för honom ibland, så han stannade nära Moster Fiona, tydligt uppskattande att ha någon i närheten för att försäkra honom. När regnet blev för mycket, var Barney mer än glad att hoppa tillbaka i bilen! Han behövde lite hjälp med att komma in i bilen i början av utflykten, men i slutet var han självsäker nog att hoppa in i bilen själv. Dessa små steg framåt är härliga att se. Barney kan vara lite nervös när han upplever okända situationer, men han gynnas av tålamod och försäkran. Han behöver en familj som förstår att världen fortfarande är väldigt ny för honom och som låter honom anpassa sig i sin egen takt. Barney har visat uppmuntrande tecken runt mindre hundar, efter att ha närmat sig några utan några problem under sin promenad med Farbror Paul. Men vi lär fortfarande känna honom, så alla introduktioner till andra hundar måste hanteras noggrant. Hans lämplighet för att leva med en annan hund måste bedömas. Barney kan inte leva med katter. Barney behöver ett kärleksfullt hem med en säker trädgård, där han kan njuta av ett lugnare liv och fortsätta att bygga sin självförtroende. Att flytta från kennlar till ett hem kommer att vara en stor förändring, så han behöver förståelse, konsekvens och mycket försäkran när han anpassar sig till sin nya omgivning. Barney är en mycket vacker pojke med världen som fortfarande väntar på att upptäckas. Med en tålmodig och kärleksfull familj att vägleda honom, hoppas vi att se hans självförtroende blomstra och hans underbara personlighet skina igenom. Fully Vaccinated, Neutered & Microchipped Barney is a handsome fawn Greyhound. DOB 23.08.2023. He is 3 years old and is now looking for his loving forever home. Barney is a lovely boy who is just beginning to discover the world beyond kennel life. As an ex-racing Greyhound, he has lots of new sights, sounds and experiences to get used to, and he will need time, patience and reassurance as he finds his paws. Barney has already enjoyed some outings with our wonderful volunteers. Uncle Paul took him for a walk around the park, where Barney was a little nervous of his surroundings, particularly the traffic. However, he was able to get up close to some little dogs without any problems, which is encouraging as we continue to learn more about him. Aunty Fiona also took Barney for a lovely outing to a local dog field. Despite the wind and heavy rain, Barney was fascinated by everything around him and enjoyed watching the world go by during the car journey. Once at the field, he jumped straight out of the car and set about exploring all the new sights, sounds and smells. The open space was a little overwhelming for him at times, so he stayed close to Aunty Fiona, clearly appreciating having someone nearby to reassure him. When the rain became too much, Barney was more than happy to hop back into the car! He had needed a little help getting into the car at the start of the outing, but by the end he was confident enough to jump back in by himself. These little steps forward are lovely to see. Barney can be a little nervous when experiencing unfamiliar situations, but he benefits from patience and reassurance. He will need a family who understands that the world is still very new to him and who will allow him to settle at his own pace. Barney has shown encouraging signs around smaller dogs, having approached some without any problems during his walk with Uncle Paul. However, we are still getting to know him, so any introductions to other dogs will need to be managed carefully. His suitability for living with another dog will need to be assessed. Barney cannot live with cats. Barney will need a loving home with a secure garden, where he can enjoy a quieter life and continue to build his confidence. Moving from kennels into a home will be a big change, so he will need understanding, consistency and plenty of reassurance while he adjusts to his new surroundings. Barney is a very handsome boy with the world still waiting to be discovered. With a patient and loving family to guide him, we hope to see his confidence blossom and his lovely personality shine through. No cats. We do like to confirm the landlord has given permission if you do not own your own property. You must have a secure garden. Any existing dogs in the family must be neutered/spayed. Families must live within an approximate 100-mile radius of our base in Rochdale/Manchester. We also do not rehome where the dogs are left for long periods each day. This may vary from dog to dog with regards to how long they can be left, but any detail about hours and routines is useful for us. Adoption Application Form All are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated before homing unless too young or upon advice from our vet/s.
