They are around 9 months old (8 months when we got them and it’s been a month). They have had their first vaccination on Monday and will receive their 2nd in a couple of weeks or so. Poppy and Bobby are a brother-and-sister pair who were rescued from a house in North London. They spent the first eight months of their lives confined to a single small bathroom without any human socialisation. Unsurprisingly, they arrived completely terrified, running to hide at the slightest sight or sound of a person. Rebuilding their trust meant starting entirely from scratch, but Poppy’s curious, adventurous spirit soon shone through; she became the first to interact, quickly revealing a lively, playful personality that adores attention on her terms. Bobby took a bit longer, initially showing signs of learned helplessness. However, by watching his sister and gaining confidence through treat-based choice work, he has transformed into a total lovebug. While Poppy loves chasing (and carrying) her toys, Bobby prefers playtime to come straight to him. Both share a passion for food—especially Bobby, who will eagerly lead you right to the treat cupboard. They remain timid around loud noises, new surroundings, and unfamiliar people, but they are finding their voices and their confidence grows stronger every day.
